Participating in Comfort Quilt 2019 Challenge

This will be news to Sue, but we are participating in the Comfort Quilt 2019 Challenge.  Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict has the signup open to add your name to the list of participants willing to help.  The Hands2Help campaign is in its ninth year with increasing participation each year.  I think it is high time we join in the fun and help to make a difference.  Please check out Sarah’s link above for more details.  There are five great charities that are being featured.  One is sure to touch your heart.

Participating Means a Decision

Not only will we need to make a decision on which charity to choose, but also which pattern?!  There are oh SO many quilt patterns I would like to make, and even some I would like to make again.  I think a nice lap sized quilt would be perfect for many of these charities.  I’ve seen some fantastic finishes by friends recently . . . like Jan and Cherie’s from our Second Quilt Along update.

Or my brother-in-law is enjoying our Regatta quilt that went together so quickly.  Another choice would be the second quilt we gave my sister (since her husband took Regatta from her) which is Garden Gate.  Not to mention all the other choices out there.  What would you make?

Participating too

Would you like to join in?  I’m posting this nice and early so you can see it and join in if you’d like to.  If you sign up by Noon, Central Daylight Time today – March 16, 2019, you can possibly win a sign-up prize.  You can still sign up after that time, and there are other prizes to be given away as well.  But no prize can beat the nice feeling that you’ll have from making a difference in someone who needs some comfort.  And isn’t that what quilting is all about?!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Oh, yes, I’ve joined in for my sixth year – I’ve finished the first top for Canada, and moving on to the next project for one of them.

  2. Thanks for letting us know about this event. I’m sure Sue appreciates the heads up too (haha). What a great chance to try out a pattern, use up some stash, and make someone else’s life a little better!

Yay for joining in! I am hoping to start on my blocks on Monday. Our guild has a community day and I will take all my blocks there and see if I can divide them into 2 sets so I can make 1 for H2H and 1 for the charities we sew for her in town.

Thanks for the heads up! I meant to participate but almost forgot about sign up week. It has been busy around here!

  6. Hi Roseanne, I love how you rope Sue into all sorts of projects!!! I’ve also signed up to participate in the Hands2Help Comfort Quilt 2019 Challenge. I am going to make a simple Charm Box quilt top for Victoria’s Quilts Canada. It’s such a good way to make a dent in my stash while making something tangible to help others who are going through a terrible ordeal. I also plan to get my Mercyful quilt bound and sent off this month. Have a great weekend! Mary

  7. I’m sure Sue will be revving up her rotary cutter for this, and I’ve no doubt you two will come up with a great quilt. Have fun!
