To-Do Tuesday #1.1 Weekly Update

Join us today for the second restart of our weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. I’m calling it #1.1 because it is a reboot! Linda hosts the To-Do Tuesday linky party and we thank you so much, Linda! Many of our friends join in and share their ongoing projects and recent finishes. Be sure to check it out.

To-Do Missing-in-Action

Lots of things have transpired since the last To-Do post on September 20th but none of it in the sewing or quilting realm. Egad. How does time speed by so quickly? Here it is just days from Thanksgiving. Most notable and annoying for me has been the “upgrade” to our network at work. I no longer can get to websites that I need for my job, let alone fun ones like your blogs. Emails I send from my work account go into “quarantine.” What the heck? They were being sent to other school districts in our township, answering a question about enrollment. Gee whiz. Nothing illicit.

Also, ongoing has been some minor health issues (cataracts) that my bestie, Sue, has been facing. Those are more or less behind us now, so life is returning to some normalcy. A new blog page has been added about our cataract surgery saga. I apologize in advance for being a poor blog friend and visitor – I can’t tell you how much I miss seeing what our friends are working on! Time in the evening is preciously short; faith and peeps come first. I know you get it!

To-Do #??

Remember these two blocks from ages ago, back in September?! Denise at For the Love of Geese shared the pattern and it’s called Sail Away. Mentally, I’m referring to this as Regatta even though we did a Regatta sew-along many moons ago with a different pattern.

We’re still using the lovely Alpaca pressing mat from Prairie Spirit Alpaca in Canada. The mat continues to impress me with its softness, lack of odor, and how nicely everything turns out after pressing. All of these blocks are complete AND have formed a table runner. The binding has been added, although it still needs to be tacked down. It’s been sitting . . . on my hassock, in plain view . . . since September. Maybe it will be completed now. One could, can, and will hope.

To-Do for the week of November 8th through 14th:

  1. Finish the Regatta table runner binding
  2. One limit list for a stress-free week
  3. Rejoin the weekly Thursday crew – the littles have been SO very busy!

  1. In case you hadn’t guessed Roseanne I’ve been MIA and am just now trying to get caught up on emails and reading blogs. Missed you but can definitely sympathize with life interfering and trying to cut back on stress. 🤗

Life needs to go at your pace, we will always wait for your attention! Love the colors in your project.

Network problems are no fun at all. I’ve been slowly getting back into the swim of things myself. Sorry to hear that Sue has had some health issues. Enjoy getting back into the swing of things, but be gracious with yourself if it doesn’t go smoothly.

  4. Roseanne you have been very much missed but so much happening for you. Yikes those computer challenges sound awful. All the best for the Regatta table runner, all in good time!

  5. Laura says:

Welcome back, Roseanne! You have been missed! So glad to hear that Sue is recovering well!
Computer and health issues stink! That’s all I am saying about that!
Hubby and I have been without power for 2 days now…had a whopper of a snowstorm causing all kinds of havoc! Hubby goes out to the car now and to charge our phones. Even so, I can still say that we are blessed!
    Take care of yourself!

  6. Gail Sheppard says:

I look forward to the finished table runner! I can tell it’ll be beautiful!
Glad to hear that you’re still enjoying the alpaca /wool mat from Prairie Spirit! 🙂

  7. Preeti says:

I am so happy to have you back, minor network issues and quarantined emails notwithstanding. I cannot comment on blogs from my phone. Well, I can, they just don’t take 🙁 Thank you so much for your love and support, Roseanne. Big squishy hugs to you.
    Wishing Sue a speedy recovery.

So good to read your post and the notes about cataract surgery. Welcome back to the blogging. I am happy to hear that Sue is doing so well. One surgery down, one to go. You two take such good care of each other and I’m glad you are doing better. I like your priorities, faith and family first. No stress as a goal. Looking forward to more positive reports.

  9. I’m glad to see you back, Roseanne! Problems with websites that affect your work, and medical issues will get in the way of more fun stuff. I’m glad Sue had successful cataract surgery – I went and read your whole post about it since I’m in the process of scheduling it right now! Fun to see what you’re working on, too. A little binding sewing might be just what you need right now!

  10. Kathleen McCormick says:

I am so sorry for you web woes….they really are a time suck! I am glad Sue is doing well and coming along after her surgery. It is a lot with all the ones you are taking care of…remember to take good care of yourself. I will go read the surgery blog post….which seems to have escaped me!

  11. Linda says:

I’m so glad you are back and Sue’s surgeries are behind her. Please give her my hugs. Yes I remember that Sail Away!
That is an excellent post about Sue’s cataract surgery. I relived mine as I read it. My doctors at the retina center here in north Texas were fantastic! My dilation went away mostly by evening on both surgeries. I am so glad her surgeries were successful. Will she still need glasses? My optometrist only saw a need for “readers” for me at this point. After wearing contacts for decades, I don’t miss ’em!!
Thank you for joining us again at To Do Tuesday!!

  12. I absolutely get it, Roseanne. So glad Sue is on the mend and hope she is 100% very, very soon. You both have been missed! Thanks so much for the cataract surgery secrets! I have them, but they are not mature enough for surgery just yet. My mom had cataract surgery and hardly needed her glasses after that. Hopefully Sue will be 20/20 when all is said and done!! Have a great week finishing up that table runner. Love those blocks!! Oh, I hope your work computer issues are resolved soon! Computers…can’t live with them…can’t live without them! LOL

  13. Wendy says:

I’m so glad things are going well for you both, and hope you two will be sewing up a storm soon. Your post on the surgery was interesting to read. I’m cheering Sue on from over here, and wishing you both the best!

  14. Vicki in MN says:

So glad to hear the good news and that you will be able to return to normalcy soon!

  15. I think we are all juggling a lot these days…plus everyone has been getting sick. Our local hospital calls it a “tripledemic”–Flu, Covid, and RSV. Hoping you, Mom, and Sue and the kiddos stay healthy!!! I like your Regatta blocks! Can’t wait to see the finished table runner! Wishing you a good week my sweet friend!
