To-Do #52+45 Weekly Recap Update

This is our 97th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.

To-Do for the week of February 11th through February 17th:

  1. Celebrate our blogiversary – √ done
  2. Wrap up Dr Seuss #2 of 4  – nada
  3. Make Ours a Double blocks – √ done

To-Do #1

Last Tuesday (on the 12th) we celebrated our two year blogiversary.  We opened up a Rafflecopter giveaway that just closed yesterday.  We decided to give two lucky winners a Frolic charm pack.  We’ll release the winner names shortly.

To-Do #2

Yeah.  Nothing happened on this little quilt top this week.  Binding is awaiting to be cut, this snazzy striped fabric.  Borders still need to be added because we were working on week five and six for Hidden Stars instead.

To-Do #3

A whole bunch of cutting ensured this week.  Only to discover that we don’t have enough fabric for this project.  Seriously.  Math gets the better of us again.  We still need 10 more blocks for our planned quilt top which is our February goal.  The OMG is looking quite a bit doubtful.

February OMG

Our February goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts is to complete a quilt top from the Make Mine a Double quilt block.

To-Do for the week of February 18th through 24th

  1. Sew like crazy to get 10 blocks done – Make Mine a Double
  2. Add the borders to Dr Seuss #2
  3. ?? – beats me ??

All the best with the February goal, ah yes Maths – I should be alright at it but get a bit nervous when it comes to the quilt! I tend to over order on fabric or plan what I am going to do if I run out and there is not enough of something. Hope you have been able to get the fabric.

Ah…the best-laid plans…I will gladly help you get the missing fabric if you need help!!

  3. I hate it when math gets the better of our fabric. I was used to generous FQs at the lqs that I worked at and it gets me everytime. 18 inches and a washed FQ are not the same measurement. Hope you find a solution (or more fabric). I gotta get sewing on Sherry’s SAL, but I am busy on the blog today getting things done. Maybe later…. I missed OMG – just as well. There is always next month.

Hello Roseanne, It is always a bummer when things do not go as planned! I hope that you and Sue can get everything all figured out and the quilt will be a great success! You were able to complete the other two goals and that is a wonderful accomplishment, always think about the good stuff! Here is to having a fantastic day!!!! Huge Smiles and Hugs are smacking into you right now!!!!!

Pick me! Pick me! I need a win this week 🙂

  7. Oh, been there, done that. Not having enough fabric is frustrating, but I’m sure you’ll recover well, even if you don’t make your OMG. Love that bold stripe! I think having those two items on your to-do list is enough; #3 would be take breaks and eat chocolate. Haha.

  8. Oh no — are you able to purchase more fabric for you OMG? I’ve started a baby quilt with the make mine a double pattern, using a charm pack I’ve got all the 16 patches made– not sure when I’ll finish it — this week is busy and in two week the kids come for a visit.
