Lime May Monthly Color Challenge Block

The monthly color block from Jen at Patterns by Jen is released on the first of each month.  She picked her monthly colors from nature and specifically flowers.  This month’s color is from the flower named a “Spider Mum.”  Lime green is the feature color, and I’ve been looking forward to this block and color since the list was shared.

Feeling Lime

We all need a little lime in our lives, or perhaps a little MORE in some cases.  The one common thread that we’re using in all of the blocks in the Sand Swiss dot fabric.  It is versatile and should go with everything, in theory right?!!  We think it looks pretty sweet here with the lime, no?!  Just a little chain piecing happening to get this block in the done side of the To-Dos.

Lime Early Release, Later Finish

Lime layout

Another project that should have been a quick finish, but life got in the way.  Sue took this picture of me placing the pieces (incorrectly, I might add) after doing a bit of pressing.   It’s blurry because I’m move, move, moving to get it done! Good thing she double-checks me or it would have needed to be ripped out and stitched again.  Did I mention that I love lime especially in a diet soda or water?  It turns out I like lime in fabric and quilt blocks as well.

Lime Ta-Da

May I present our Lime inspired May block that we will be sharing on Jen’s linky party.

Lime yeah

There is a definite theme going on beyond our polka dot fabric one, and that would be the hourglass shape in all five blocks so far.  Do you agree?  Wait – the churn dash block doesn’t have one does it?!

Lime monthly

These blocks are residing on the design wall, sharing space with yet ANOTHER Dr. Seuss quilt (#4). ~Eye roll~  I’m not writing another post about that topic so just ignore it.

I love lime everything! These blocks are awesome and I can’t wait to see them all at the end of the sew along! One question…I may be a dolt, but where is the hourglass shape in the churn dash block? I know I’m gonna feel like a dope when you show me…

  5. The lime gives a nice pop! How big will this quilt be when it’s done? Take care, Mary.

  6. You just can’t go wrong with lime, in my honest opinion. I think it goes with everything – ha! So, Thing One and Thing Two are still hanging around your sewing room, eh?

  7. I like lime also — this will be a cute quilt!

Nice, Roseanne! I love lime green too. I even have a lime green mustang sitting in my yard! It was so much fun to drive before my knees got too bad to shift gears – just a lime green streak flying down the road! LOL All your blocks are lovely.
