August Cind-erella OMG Project

It’s time for our August OMG or one monthly goal project to be announced.  We are very thankful that Patty at Elm Street Quilts hosts a linkup party each month.  Since joining in on the fun last year, we haven’t missed meeting each month’s goal.  This month the project meets a monthly and quarterly goal which is a nice twofer.  So what is the goal?  I’ll bet you can guess if you’ve been reading recently.  It’s for a sweet girl and it might be Cind-erella inspired.

August OMG Project

Just last month we started working on a Cind-erella baby quilt for Addison.  Our official goal will be to finish piecing the quilt top.  Then, if I’m so inspired, we’ll layer and quilt it up.  After that, we can give it to Grandma Janice and baby Addison for their enjoyment.  As usual, this will require photographs of each of them and together with and on the quilt.  Grandma Janice will HAVE to wear her Cind-erella watch, don’t you think?  Perhaps she can add a few of the collectible items she has garnered over the years.  It sounds like the props needed for the photo shoot will be more worrisome than the usual how-to-quilt-it question.

August Cind-erella Fun

To summarize, our August OMG is to finish the Cind-erella quilt top.  We going for extra points – we’ll aim for quilting and gifting it.  We are overachievers though so the quilting and gifting part should be easy.  Especially if we spend some quality time working on it.  ~smile~

  6. Such a great project. I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up getting it quilted and bound, but it’s nice to have the option to stop at finishing the quilt top if that’s what works best for you. Have a great weekend, Mary.

Every time I see this quilt it makes me smile. I am old enough to remember when Rogers and Hammerstein first introduced their version of Cinderella with Leslie Ann Warren and Stuart Damon. I was over the moon in love with the prince and wished I could be as beautiful as Leslie. I suspect this quilt will bring the same sort of warm and wonderful memories.
