Mystery QAL #2 – Tea Flowers

Tracy at It’s A T-Sweets Day and Cindy of In A Stitch Quilting are hosting their second Mystery quilt along.  It just started on April 1st and runs through June 30th, so it’s not too late to join in!

Mystery QAL 2

The rules are very simple:  1) use the mystery fabric, and 2) share your results on June 30th.  You may also share updates on your blog or via Instagram using #mystery_qal.  Make anything you wish, any size, using as many other fabrics as you want as long as the mystery fabric is used.

What is the mystery fabric, you ask??

Connecting Threads Tea Flowers in Tomato (#91329) on the left is the mystery fabric for this QAL.  We selected a second fabric from the same line called Cream on Cream (polka dot), that I just LOVE.  We’re not really floral people, but I am willing to step outside the comfort box for this fun project.

Tea Flowers Project

We can make anything we want with this fabric.  What are we leaning toward?  Sue is still on the half-square triangle (HST) kick, with a chevron pattern like we used for a little gem, baby Grant (we still need a picture, Paty!).

I am leaning toward a herringbone pattern, which would be similar and would still involve HSTs.  So, it sounds like we will have some HSTs in our near future (again) if we go either of these routes.  Stay tuned about our progress on this project!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Those two fabrics together are going to look fantastic! I can’t wait to see your progress!

  2. I love your companion fabric. I want to buy the whole collection, but am still trying to narrow down my choices. Baby Grant’s blanket is beautiful! I think it would look lovely with your QAL fabrics too.

  3. I love the chevron layout! I mentioned to Abbie that wanted to join this time.

You should look at getting an accuquilt cutter. They are fabulous for cutting those HSTs.

  5. Roseanne, I look forward to seeing what you decide to make. I know it will be spectacular. 🙂

I always want to join mystery SAL/QAL’s, but I suck at deadlines and following along. LOL
