June OMG Selection Process Winner Is

The month of June is just a fabulous time of year, don’t you think?  First of all, it’s Sue’s birthday month and she loves to celebrate the entire 30 days.  Life is short so why not celebrate as often and for as long as you can?!  School is wrapping up or has already in the northern hemisphere and the weather holds the promise of warmer days and perhaps an actual end to winter.  June also signifies the end to the first quarter and half of the year!  Holy moly!  I’m not thinking about Christmas shopping already . . . I’m not.

June OMG Processing

Were you wondering where I was going with all of that babble?  It is time to select a June OMG project.  So many options/projects to choose from – which one to pick?  Option #1:  we have Harley t-shirts awaiting attention with just five rows to sew together and then quilting may commence.  Option #2:  Hidden Star is all layered and has a quilting plan already in place my mind.  Both of these items are on the Quarter 2 list, and a completion of either project would be welcome.

Other June Options

Other avenues exist if those don’t fit the bill, such as Sandra’s Beothuk which has a linky party on June 15th.  We could be really organized and have that all sewn together, layered and quilted by then.  HAHA – good one – I crack myself up.  That would be option #3, while #4 to consider is one of the TWO Dumbo panels I picked up for prosperity.   The first finish was so much fun to quilt that I had to make two more, right?!

The recently determined colorway for the Cinderella quilt, in blue and yellow, would be Option #5 although that may require fabric purchase(s).  Finally, the often overlooked, ignored and forgotten about Autumn Leaf project is also a contender.  That quilt top is the abandoned hand quilting project dumped on my quilting pile rather unceremoniously.

EACH of these would make a fabulous OMG for the month of June.  In fact, I should make all six projects the goal and give up working and sleeping.

June Red Herring?

Is there an unknown project that Sue is going to spring on me?  Oh wait, that would be me who springs the unknown on her. What should we pick??  Drumroll please . . . Hidden Star or option #2 is the big winner.  Way back when, and I’m talking weeks here, I had an actual quilting plan for this piece.  Many hours anguishing over how to make this quilt shine were spent and now I can’t recall.  Doesn’t it just figure?!  I know I’m going to outline each of the hidden stars and let them stand out.  The rest needs to be pulled from my gray matter and applied.  We’ll all be surprised although this second photo may have slightly reminded me.  ~smile~

Our June OMG project is to complete the quilting and binding on Hidden Star.  We will link up with Patty at Elm Street Quilts.  We are also linking up with Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts and at Becca’s What I Made Monday website today.

Great goal, and I was thinking you had shown a drawing of the quilting, so I think it’s all going to work out. So many beautiful quilts to work on!

Happy Birthday Month Sue!! Can’t beat a month long celebration :0)
So much goodness from which to choose – don’t tell anyone but I was secretly (shhh) cheering for the Hidden Stars! I do like to say that I would prefer to have too many projects than to be without inspiration…that’s what I say anyway – have a great week ladies.

OMG your post is too funny, well it is girl—so many options. You’ll have to give Sue a list of to do’s while you are at work, LOL Shhh don’t tell Sue that I said that, haha. She and I have the month in common, I’ll wish her Happy Birthday now since I forgot what day her’s is. Mine is today and I spent the morning with my oldest Grandson(8) sewing! Then I had to share the time-he spent the afternoon playing outside with Gpa after they baked me a cake.

Love that you have quite a few projects on the go, on Sunday I sat down and listed everything I have – knowing I am also going to start something new that I couldn’t resist. I have a long list – as well I started something new in May! Anyway I have picked my June goal too and will look forward to your hidden stars being quilted.

Hello Roseanne, Sue has the right idea to celebrate all month long, so Happy Birthday on this unbirthday day, Sue! That has me giggling already, so I hope it is making both of your days start out with smiles and giggles also!! Just like you, I have all sorts of projects to choose from to work on each and every day. My Mom is finally starting to feel better, we took her to a couple of garage sales yesterday and then out for lunch. After that we went back to her house and played a game for an hour or so and then had to get back to our puppies. But it was her first outing and she did great and had a fantastic time! So, life will still slowly be returning to normal. I look forward to seeing each and every one of your posts this month and all of the projects you complete or even make progress on! So have a marvelous day!!

  11. Happy Birthday to Sue! Glad you chose Hidden Stars, and I’m also looking forward to your Beothuk finish (because you said you were gonna finish that too, right?? – haha)

Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy during these end of spring days. I’d work on the stars if it were my choice. Happy Stitching!
