Drop Everything And Make It – End of 2018

Yup, waiting for Baby Girl to arrive means Sue and I head into the sewing room.  And do what?!!  It’s definitely a DrEAMi moment (drop everything and make it), and Sandra at mmm Quilts coined the phrase and is hosting a linky party.  Woohoo!

So What Did We Drop

Since Sue’s dictum of no fabric purchases (harsh!), I knew I had to use up some stash.  Thankfully, we have a bit of a fabric stash.  So, time to drop the Dr. Seuss bomb.  Purchased before they were no longer available, we had 25 pre-printed panel blocks.  Add to that a dashing print for the borders and we were on a DrEAMi roll.

Oddly enough, just a year ago we were working on another Dr. Seuss quilt for Keri.  At that time, we purchased extra fabric “just in case.”  This turns out to be the just in case time.

Drop on Saturday

Cut out the blocks on Friday afternoon, and layer it up on Saturday.  We even had some Dr. Seuss backing that fit ON HAND.

It will be all quilted by Sunday and listed on Etsy shortly thereafter.  Now that’s the definition of a drop everything and make it, don’t you think?!

Very cute quilt from your stash. Hope that baby comes soon…but in the meantime you are making great use of the time waiting.

  2. That Dr. Seuss quilt is the best, and I don’t think it will be available at your Etsy store for now! That print sashing just makes it! Hope you all don’t have to wait much longer! Happy New Year! Mary

Hello Roseanne, What a fun way to do the waiting! Is she in labor or are you just getting anxious? This is a great quilt that you have made and I hope that it sells quickly for you! I am going to get a scrap quilt cut out today and will see if I get any of the sewing done. I hope the two of you have a marvelous day!

I can’t believe Baby Girl is still holding out! Have you had a chat with her? Did you tell her that she can make her grand entrance any time now? That I am waiting?? Still praying for all. And I think the best way to pass the time is sewing! You are brilliant. And using your stash? Exemplary! I too am on a self imposed fabric diet…let’s see how far that gets me. Awaiting the Grand Entrance with you!
