To-Do Tuesday Weekly List #81 Update

If you are looking for the To-Do Tuesday linky party it is held by Chris over at Chris Knits. I will be heading over to link up our post right away. Chris has also been a partner in crime with us as one of the hosts of the Stay-At-Home Round Robin (Round Six log cabin border shared just yesterday).

To-Do List for February 16 – 22:

  1. Again, do whatever the heck you want as no list was shared for this week
  2. Get ready for a Island Batik blog hop – beginning of March

To-Do #1

I’ve been rather free and loose with our to-do list lately, including not actually making one until after-the-fact. Since that continues for last week, I am here to report what we’ve actually completed. It’s getting closer and closer to the due date for our next little baby boy, so his Lucy the lion baby quilt is a top priority. It’s hard to tell in this photo that I shared last week but there is a light gray border on the outside of the colorful one.

We found a backing in our stash that reminds me of a yellow zebra-stripe. While we had purchased a different backing to use for this quilt, it had too much pink prevalent within the multicolors. Once we had it layered, quilting began in earnest.

Just a simple crosshatch with a light gray thread that matched just perfectly! For the bobbin thread, I used a plain off-white Aurifil and the tension was just perfect. My walking foot is a rockstar, allowing the quilting to almost happen with no involvement from me. Next week, we should have this all finished, complete with binding and it being washed/dried.

To-Do #2

Round Six of the Stay-At-Home Round Robin was just announced yesterday with the log cabin block. We didn’t actually add a whole border of this block and we chose an alternate layout from the traditional block. You can see the details in yesterday’s post but here are four of the log cabin blocks we made.

To-Do February 23 through March 1:

  1. Finish Lucy the Lion baby quilt – baby is due March 3rd!!
  2. Round Seven (last round) for SAHRR
  3. Island Batik Blog Hop starts on March 1!

Eek! March is starting off b.u.s.y.

Lucy the Lion looks awesome!! And, I really like your modified log cabin blocks for the round robin! I’m getting so excited about the hop next week. My quilt is on the frame and today I’ll start quilting it. I am having trouble deciding just how for the sashing, but I think I have the blocks covered!!

So cute and the backing sounds perfect. I sometimes have to fight my walking foot. What kind of machine/walking foot do you have?
