To-Do Tuesday #260 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 260th weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Linda hosts the To-Do Tuesday linky party and we thank you, Linda!

To-Do for the week of June 7th through 13th:

  1. Maybe start quilting an Apple quilt for Violet – √ Done
  2. Start cutting Positivity pieces maybe√ Kind of done
  3. No more – stress-free motto adherence!

To-Do #1

I volunteered to quilt an apple quilt for sweet little Violet who just turned one. Oddly enough, we did have the energy to layer it. We both have summer colds, the first in two years. These are the blocks we made earlier this year for the 36-block quilt.

My plan is to have it complete by the end of this month. We’ll see if that actually happens! It will end up being a good-sized quilt for Violet. More later as this project progresses . . . it’s made it to the cleared off sewing table.

To-Do #2

Well, well, well. While the second annual Positivity QAL started officially on May 29th, our fabric hasn’t arrived yet. To be honest, we didn’t order it until the 28th of May because we needed size requirements. Friday afternoon I received an email saying that Green Fairy Quilts had sent me a package via 2-day shipping. I’m looking forward to starting this project for a variety of reasons. First, it’s a fabulous charity and secondly, it’s a color palette we rarely use. Who doesn’t like new fabrics?!!

Extra Fun!

Saturday evening, a package was delivered unbeknownst to us. Does that happen to you? They deliver a package and just throw it and run away. No ringing of the bell. Nothing. We don’t enter and exit our home via the front door since the garage is attached. Anyway, who knows when this package actually arrived but it is cool! It was gift-wrapped with a pretty ribbon.

It’s an Alpaca Pressing Mat from the Prairie Spirit Alpacas company, made 100% in Canada. We were asked to test their pressing mat and share our opinion, which I’ll do later. If you have a moment to check out their website, it has some nifty products. My favorite part of their website is the Blog section where you can read about baby Ariel and her mom, Rachel. We have first-hand experience with how soft alpaca fleece is, but more on that another day.

To-Do for the week of June 14th through 20th:

  1. Start cutting a few Positivity2022 blocks
  2. Maybe actually start quilting a village-made apple quilt for Violet
  3. Press the multitude of blocks for the Two and Four QAL
  4. Two three limit list for another stress-free week!

OH darn – a cold. Nothing more than a summer cold to ruin a week! I agree with you on the stress! I am anxious to see the review on the Alpaca Mat! Have a great week and hope you feel better.

Are you retired or still working. Are you a Teacher? Just being nosy! LOL. Hugs

  2. Hi Roseanne. Sure hope you and Sue are getting over your cold quickly. It’s not a great way to start summer. Your apple quilt top is great and so are the apple blocks. Hope you like the Prairie Spirit pressing mat as much as I do. 😉

  3. That apple quilt is just adorable, Roseanne! I hope the quilting goes fast and smooth for you. That does look like a beautiful fabric line for your Positivity quilt, too. Hope you and Sue are both feeling better soon!

  4. Gosh that Apple quilt is just amazing, I have not seen anyone like it, really going to be outstanding. How interesting about the Alpaca mat, I use a wool one which works well. Would imagine alpaca would be kind of similar. Hope your colds pass soon.

  5. I’m the same as Vicki…no recollection of those cute apple blocks! That is one sweet quilt top! I hope you and Sue are on the mend! Colds are no fun at all! 🙂

  6. Sorry you and Sue aren’t feeling well. Summer colds are no fun. I can hardly wait to see that apple quilt finished! I love those bright, cheery blocks! I hope you have good progress with your list and feel better SOON!!

Sorry you and Sue haven’t been feeling well. Glad you on the mends. That is a cute apple quilt! I made a table runner and placemats last year! I like your motto – stress free! Only do what you enjoy!

Why do I not remember you even working on those apple blocks let alone all that you have done! What a cute quilt. Sorry you both have been feeling under the weather. I am assuming you are on the mend since you added three goals this week;)

  9. Linda says:

Good morning Roseanne and Sue! I like the “Kind of done” – I had those last week. Boo-hiss on the summer colds. 🙁 That apple quilt is adorable! Good luck with your list, and I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you for sharing with To Do Tuesday!
