To-Do Tuesday #241 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 241st weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Linda as the host of the To-Do Tuesday linky party. She is doing a fabulous job and we thank her for that!

To-Do for the week of January 18th through 24th:

  1. Round Two in the SAHRR √ Done
  2. Continue the appliqué blocks for Colt’s quilt – √ Done
  3. Short list = stress-free! – √ Done

To Do #1

The Round Two prompt for the Stay At Home Round Robin 2022 (SAHRR) was announced just yesterday. Emily Dogwood Quilts chose the diamond shape as the second-round focus. We took the easy route and used four half-rectangle triangle blocks to form a large 12.5″ diamond.

Each individual HRT measures 3.5″ x 6.5″, therefore, our diamond is 6.5″ x 12.5″. It’s big and with these Tula Pink fabrics, it has its own sparkle!

To-Do #2

I’m slowly cranking away on these appliqué blocks for our sports-themed quilt for Colt. This week, Sue started to prepare a golf ball for me to work on but then we each got a head cold. The last thing I felt like was working in the sewing room . . . so we didn’t.

To-Do for the week of January 25th through 31st:

  1. Work on the Round Three prompt for the SAHRR – our week with a linky party
  2. Do more appliqué blocks for Colty’s quilt – there are a total of 25 blocks to go
  3. That’s it – a short, stress-free list!

Love the sports balls! We caught your head cold, after we had the virus – oh what a fun few days it has been! 😀
You and Sue take care, and thanks for linking up with To Do Tuesday!

  2. Chris says:

The sports balls are adorable!! I can’t wait to see this quilt finished.

  3. Roseanne that is just a perfect To-Do list. Have fun!

  4. Those appliqued pieces are beauties, Roseanne. Sorry you got sidetracked with a cold. How neat to make triangles like that. Take care of each other!

  5. Mary says:

Your half-rectangle diamonds work perfectly! Thanks for sharing all the details. I’m thinking of doing some paper-pieced diamonds for my SAHRR—-no surprise there! And as always I love seeing your applique blocks.

  6. No stress is a good thing, Roseanne! Have fun.

  7. Gail Sheppard says:

    Great stress-free list!
    Happy quilting! 🙂

You are rocking the diamonds! Oh, I’ve been watching that Tula fabric. Not available at my LQS. Guess online, for me! If been missing your posts. Got to get back in the groove of “blog visiting”! See you soon!

  9. Oh hope that head cold goes away fast, such a turn off. I did look at your diamonds post when you posted. Very smart. Those sports balls are going to be amazing. Oh did I tell you that my word for 2022 is “small wins”. Probably suits you too! Take care.

Wishing you a speedy recovery for next week. Hoping to do my 2 rounds soon of SAHRR, but a few deadlines are keeping me from fun stuff. Hope all goes well and you get done what you need to this week!

  11. Rochelle Summers says:

So sorry you got a head cold. Hope you recover fast. I think sewing when I’m not feeling good is always followed by a date with the Grim Ripper! Meanwhile, doing nothing doesn’t sound so bad either.

  12. A short list is great, especially since you are recovering from a cold! It is also great for a sense of accomplishment! I like doable. 🙂

  13. Vicki in MN says:

Nothing wrong with a short list, then you have time for a squirrel to pop in, LOL

  14. I love that Tula Pink fabric! I have it in my crumb hearts quilt, too. Looking forward to seeing the golf ball you make for Colt’s quilt, but meanwhile, hope you’re feeling better!

  15. Good for you! You’re sticking with your short-stress-free list! Remember how good it makes you feel when you get tempted to slide into a less ‘short-stress-free’ sort of ‘list’!!!!

  16. Cheree Hull says:

Your half-rectangles reminded me of one of my first quilts, a baby quilt for a friend with kites and chuckled when you mentioned the easy route. I struggled with getting those triangles JUST right and ended up at the LQS for a quick lesson–but I got it! A golf ball, eh? That’s right up my alley, er, fairway. Will be watching for that one!

  17. Wendy Tuma says:

Short and sweet sound perfect for this week! I need to get my next round under the needle soon!
