Quarter Three – Our List for Finish A-Long

Quarter Three Finish A-Long Update

This year we did join the Quarter Finish Along.  Our friend and fellow blogger, Nicole, at Handwrought Quilts is one of the Hosts for the 2019 Finish A Long.

Finish A Long

Can you believe the year is half over and it is the third quarter?  Playing along with the finish a-long has been productive for us as we’ve finished over half of the items we put on our list.

Quarter Three – Our List

Here are the items we are choosing to finish over the next three months.  July, August, and September should allow for some good sewing and quilting time as Sue is off.  She will have time on her hands to spare, in theory anyway.

  1. Cind(erella) quilt for Addison and her grandma
  2. Harley t-shirt quilt
  3. Autumn Leaf quilted
  4. Quilt the Beothuk quilt top
  5. Table runner for Dar
  6. Quiet Book

Quarter Three Oldies

Are there any carryover items from the previous quarters?  Yes, actually there are four carryover items.  Look what made it to number uno finally!  The #1 Cind(erella) quilt for Janice and Addison is actually a pattern called Her Carriage Awaits from Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.  The half square triangles have been made and laid out in a pleasing manner.  Now we will begin to appliqué and sew this into a quilt top.

The Harley Davidson t-shirt quilt (#2) is nearing completion.  We hope to share detailed posts about how we go about making a t-shirt quilt from the beginning steps all the way through quilting.

Speaking of quilting, two items on the list are quilt tops still awaiting quilting.

The Autumn Leaf (#3) quilt and The Beothuk (#4) quilt are both will to be worked on sooner than later in the next three months.

New Quarter Three Items

New projects continue to happen and we need those to stimulate our creativity.  Right?!  A while back we received a major fabric haul from a quilter who was downsizing her quilting stash.  Her name is Dar, and we are going to make her a table runner (#5) for her new apartment lifestyle.  These are a few of the fabrics we plan to use.

Another project that has slipped from view is the Quiet Book project for the two littles.  Another appliqué-heavy project, this will also include zippers, snaps and ties to keep those little fingers busy.  The ice cream scoops pictured below use Velcro to put them atop the cone depending on which flavor appeals to them.

Quarter Three Options

Quarter four really isn’t all that far away, is it?  We could and perhaps should have included some holiday gifts on the list.  Oh to be proactive and ahead of the game – what is that idea?  Maybe with a shorter list for this quarter we will get them all finished – one can always hope.

  10. Hello Roseanne, Even with all you have planned you and Sue will get these wonderful quilt projects all done. It is always inspiring to see your list and see you finish each project through the quarter. It is one of the many reasons I enjoy reading your blog and everyday posts! Have a great day! I was outside with the fur babies just a moment ago and we are overcast and it was actually spitting a few raindrops. That would be a fabulous gift for this area, since we are already in high danger of fires. Thanks for sharing and have a spectacular day!
