Wednesday Dilemma and PHD Update

March PHD Update – UFOs

This year, we have joined Quilting Gail in a quest to complete our PHD (projects half done) certificate.  We have a list of 12 UFOs that we shared back in December with links showing the unfinished project or photos.  An update was shared at the end of February, with three items crossed off the list already.  Good thing we were able to finish one item ahead of time, because our March update is pretty abysmal.  As in zero, zip, zilch, nada, no items were completed this past month.

Jiggidy Jigsaw

We did make some headway on our Jigsaw baby quilt though.  While it’s not complete yet, it does have four rows sewn together.  You will see in the photo above that it really is starting to look like jigsaw pieces.

April OMG and PHD

We are thinking about items to choose for our April OMG project.  It would be really nice to pick an item on the PHD list.  The project would be a two-fer then which isn’t a bad idea.  I should tackle an already layered quilt awaiting quilting.  Both Garden Gate and the second Animal Panel have been patiently waiting on me.  Hmm.

Lured by MSQC

Missouri Star Quilt Company tempted both our friend Carol and us on Sunday.  They had the Me and My Sister charm pack Frolic on sale.  We both purchased not just one but TWO.

Frolic

It’s too darn cute don’t you think?!  So, I have been thinking about what we can make with two charm packs.  I’ve had this pattern floating around in my head for an EQ8 design at some point (whenever I make time to learn it):

The block on the left is just a four-patch of charm squares, and the block on the right is a charm square cut into 2.5″ pieces.  The finished block size would be 9″.  If we made a baby quilt 5 x 6 rows, that would use most of the two charm packs.  That is floating around inside my head today.  Hmm.  Just what we need – another new project to start.  HAHA!  It’s not on Sue’s list so she may veto it.

Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or on the sidebar on our website.  Check out what our friends are up to for some quilty inspiration.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your latest project there!  We love to see them.  ~smile~
