To-Do Tuesday Linky #61 and Weekly Update

Join us for the 61st linky party post and the 181st weekly to-do list.  Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.”

To-Do for the week of September 29th through October 5th:

  1. Determine the October OMG project – √ done
  2. Start working on the next snowman runner √ done
  3. Start on something from the fourth quarter list – √ done

To-Do #1

For our October OMG project, we’ve decided to have me quilt our Flower Power table runner. I found inspiration for the quilting of this piece on Rebecca Grace‘s blog and a panto photo she shared called Daisies Galore. It is basically a five-petal flower with a loop or two before starting another daisy.

To-Do #2

Andrea’s snowman table runner is complete and now we’re starting on a similar yet different colorway for Nicole (Colt’s mom). She had more specific input into the fabric choices for her runner, most notably in the border fabrics. Her four snowmen are all appliqued – now I’ll start working on those borders! I like the three Buffalo plaid fabrics making an appearance.

To-Do #3

Making our fourth quarter list for the Finish Along really pumped me up (we’ll share the list tomorrow)! I’m excited to make everything we’ve included and had a hard time choosing one project to start on beyond the snowman runner. The six International Sisters that Preeti sent us we’re calling out our names, and we listened.

Sue went through our stash and picked out backgrounds and skin tone choices for 19 Sisters. Together we then matched up all the different possible combinations and now I’ll get to work on our first Sister. The six Preeti sent us are hanging out on the design wall, waiting their to turn shine in a quilt. Soon, we whisper. Very soon.

October OMG

As mentioned above, we are going to finish off our Flower Power table runner as our October One Monthly Goal project. Our thanks go to Patty at Elm Street Quilts for hosting this monthly linky party.

To-Do for the week of October 6th through 12th:

  1. Make our first International Sister block
  2. Find fabric for a herringbone table runner
  3. Start cutting fabrics for a light blue 9-patch

Anxious to see how the flowers quilt up. I like the addition border on the snowmen–a perfect finish to it. As for your #3, that might be a little too organized for me! That probably doesn’t make sense for how I do most things but somehow planning that many blocks that far ahead gets to be too many things laying around my sewing room or something. Or maybe it’s the pressure of having them all waiting their turn?!? LOL

  5. Vicki in MN says:

You are working on some really fun projects. It’s always fun to see the same runner made up in different fabrics isn’t it. It can change drastically sometimes. Good luck on the week ahead.

Hello Roseanne, It is fabulous the way in which you set your goals and even better how incredibly you and Sue (almost) always complete every item on your list. Actually, I think it was only once that you did not completely complete one of your goals. Absolutely Amazing and something to be very proud of! I had to go and recheck out the link about the International Sisters and once again can understand why you are so excited to do this quilt project. Have a blast with all of your projects as you have the opportunity to work on them throughout the week!! I look forward to seeing all of your progress. Have a magnificent day!

You have certainly been beautiful and it looks like you are planning to stay that way. The Sisters quilt will be awesome. I’ve share the link with my sister and she was quite interested in Preeti’s pattern. Those Snowmen table runners make me smile and I really like the flower power. I have some brooches/pins that are big bright flowers. Purchased in the 60s when they were hot stuff.

What a cute table runner–it’s so festive! Love that you are doing Preeti’s quilt too. I can’t wait to get to that and have been putting fabric aside for someday when I get to do more sewing! Have a great day!

The Flower Power table runner is very cute, so summery looking! It would be great to use in winter to drive away the dreary winter skies. Happy stitching!
