Flower-Power Table Runner October OMG Project

It’s time to start off our fourth year of playing along with Patty at Elm Street Quilts in a Flower-Power way. Patty hosts a monthly linky party for One Monthly Goal (OMG) projects. Thanks to her, we have completed 36 projects that we may or may not have completed otherwise.

Flower-Power in the Beginning

I have to admit, I was reluctant in the beginning. Sue proceeded along without listening to my doubts as she often does. She could see the vision while I had to be dragged there.

First, she had me applique these flower center pieces. These centers are very reminiscent of the wheels we made for Dominic’s truck big boy quilt. There were quite a few wheels on that quilt – just saying. Once I got to the flower petals though, the design was slowly winning me over.

Flower-Power All the Way

By the time all four flowers were appliqued onto their green background squares, I was in love. Why haven’t we made this cute little runner sooner?! We’ve missed out enjoying it for several summers now . . . but now 2021 will mark its first.

We used the same green fabric in the borders which host two cute ladybugs along with some colorful fabric rectangles. I wrapped up the additional applique that was required and we had ourselves a quilt top in no time.

Flower-Power For the Win

For the win and for our October One Monthly Goal project which we’ll share in Patty’s linky party. We will layer, quilt and bind this table runner this month. Using an allover quilting design called Daisies Galore (a pantograph) will be my inspiration on my domestic sewing machine, if possible. An easily obtainable goal in theory!

Join us each Tuesday for our hosted linky party called To-Do Tuesday.  Check our sidebar or our Linky Parties page on our website for more quilting fun.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page to share the photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Something fun to look forward to in 2021! I will be interested to learn how you are going to do a panto on your domestic, since you know my brain has only one lane when quilting…long arm!!

  9. Sew cute…love the bright colors and the ladybugs!

  10. What a fun, happy runner! You’re going to love that on your table come January/February when the cold winter winds are blowing and you need some bright color. Great finish!
