To-Do #118 Weekly Progress Update

This is the 118th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We usually share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts and at Becca’s What I Made Monday website on Mondays and on Christine’s Stitch All the Things and Dione’s Clever Chameleon website on Tuesdays.  Check out what our friends are sharing!

To-Do for the week of July 8th through 14th:

  1. Continue appliquéing Cind-erella  – √ done
  2. Find fabrics for two Fizzy blocks – √ done

To-Do #1

I gave us a very shortened list for the week so that I wouldn’t feel guilty not being in the sewing room in ages.  I enjoy appliqué and find it relaxing, so it wasn’t an issue to complete more of it on the Cind-erella quilt.  The Bloc-Loc ruler came out again for the trimming of rows three and four of the HSTs.  It turns out there are SIX rows of HSTs to trim so I mistakenly thought I would be finished after those two rows.  I pitched a mini-fit worthy of Dominic when I discovered that.  Those last two rows can bite me wait until next week to be trimmed.  I appliqued the second steed, all of the stars and then started on the carriage.  Take that HSTs.  That’ll show them, right?!

To-Do #

This month the queen bee in the IG Honeybees group we’re in selected the Fizzy block for us to make.  We’ve made this block before back in February, and it was fun to make.  The curves are gentle and don’t require them the be clipped to lay flat which surprised me.

ACs blocks

For this month’s blocks, we need to introduce floral prints where the blue fabrics are pictured and white-on-white for the pink areas.  Rumor has it there will be another similar request of this block for an upcoming month.  Here are the fabrics we will be using, and I’ll share the finished blocks next week!  The upper right corner is the white-on-white fabric which is impossible to photograph, it seems.

July OMG

Our July OMG (one monthly goal) is to quilt and bind our July OMG is a Harley Happening.  We linked this goal on Patty’s Elm Street Quilts website and linky party.  It’s all finished but we need to wash and dry it!

To-Do for the week of July 15th through 21st

  1. Trim the remaining Cind-erella HSTs
  2. Finish the Fizzy blocks and get them in the mail
  3. Find orange fabrics for pumpkin block for sweet Alice

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

I have to admit, I was laughing so hard over the “can bite me” strike out phrase that I could barely read the rest. Good for you both for giving yourself an easy list this week!

  2. We all have our mini fits every now and then. Glad to know I’m not alone! I have been lucky enough to be in a quilting bee hive. It looks like you are having so much fun with it. I’m sure it pushes you out of your comfort zone with colors and patterns.

  4. Roseanne, you’re talking to your HST’s?? They must be really causing a ruckus. You keep those things in line! 🙂

Think of your mini fit as a therapy! What a hoot. Although there are days I’m right there with you. Your Cind-erella is looking good.

  6. Hello Roseanne, Seems you have started everyone’s day off with a great laugh at picturing you having you throwing a mini fit and only because we would all be doing it ourselves!!!! So now that you have faced that obstacle and did some more of the applique, I bet you are really getting excited about the quilt? Just what you have shown so far has got me very excited to see this quilt! Plus, how fun to a block that usually requires clipping and to discover no clipping, no wonder other quilters are wanting to make a quilt with this block also! Thank you for sharing all of your great quilting adventures! Have a marvelous day!!

  7. ha ha…I like the “mini fit” and the “bite me” both are sentiments I feel often while sewing!

  9. I’m giggling over you throwing a mini fit, only because I would do the same. Happy Monday!
