To-Do Tuesday #29 & Monday Musing

Two of our friends host a weekly linky party. Brenda at Songbird Designs has a Monday linky party called Monday Musings. Our friend Carol at Quilt Schmidt hosts To-Do Tuesday with a linky party as well. We will share our weekly updates on both of their websites.

Countdown and Walk Challenge Update:

There are only 35 days (including today!) left in 2023! My walking stats for last week with a goal of 10,500/day:

  • 11/19 = 10,945
  • 11/20 = 12,338
  • 11/21 = 12,943
  • 11/22 = 10,842
  • 11/23 = 10,893
  • 11/24 = 12,735
  • 11/25 = 12,007

I hope all of our USA friends enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. Spending time with our family is one of our favorite things to do. It wasn’t a hardship to hold and entertain Maverick on his very first Thanksgiving. That little peanut seems to be growing by the minute!

To-Do for last week:

  1. Make a bowl cozy and a journal cover for gifts
  2. Finish the gnome runner – maybe?
  3. Two limit list for a stress-free week

To-Do #1

Sue asked me to make a couple of gifts for her to give to some of her coworkers. I was happy to do so and I got them both finished over the long weekend. First up was a bowl cozy. We had a layer cake that was just begging to be used, so that was a no-brainer. I had to capture a picture of it in use and that bowl of apples was the perfect size.

Next, a friend who is a teacher might like a school-inspired journal. Sue poked around in the specialty fabric drawer and found this gem from circa 2000. I’d say it’s finally the perfect application after holding on to it for 23 years. Before you know it, they were both gifts were complete and ready to be wrapped.

To-Do #2

Yeah. The Forest Dwellers runner finish didn’t happen. Not only did it not happen, but the green and red final border comprised of 2.5″ squares hasn’t even been considered. Oh, well. That leaves me something to aspire to for next week!

What To-Do Next Week?

  1. Finish the gnome runner
  2. Beats me – no inspiration lately
  3. Only two – no stress!

  1. Love the lovely cuddles on Thanksgiving. The journal cover fabric is just perfect for the teacher. Congrats on all those steps too.

Look at you go with the steps! Way to keep at it! There’s so much snow around here that the courses are all closed. I managed a few 10K+ days anyway–and that was just holiday work but I need to get on that treadmill now! The forest dwellers are too cute!!

Wonderful photos of you and Sue with little Maverick. Yep they grow like weeds when you only see them once or twice a week. That bowl cozy came out so nice and the journal cover was just the place for that wonderful fabric. That gnome table runner will be so cute when you get it done. Meanwhile just keep showing it to us each week. Congrats on keeping those walking numbers up, especially on Thanksgiving. Stay stress free. Hugs my friend.

Love the bowl cozies! They are always in use around here. And the journal cover has me thinking I need to cover my journal too! But I don’t have time. Stop giving me ideas.

Love the photos of you and Sue with Maverick! He is adorable! Great job on keeping up with your walking goal! Have a wonderful week! 🙂

  6. That little Maverick is a cutie! This time of year, making gifts seems to be a priority, and takes our energy away from fun stuff like the gnome tablerunner. Maybe you’ll get back to it this week, Roseanne!

  7. Wendy says:

Fun to see you holding that little fella – he sure is a cutie! Those gifts will be well received, and used often, I’m sure! No worries on the progress with the gnomes – I just enjoy looking at them!

  8. Kathleen McCormick says:

Happy new week to you! Love the pics of you and Sue with Maverick. The gifties were perfect sewing projects in a busy week. Good luck with this week.

  9. Vicki in MN says:

Love that Journal cover! And another good week of walking! I just want to squeeze little Maverick, so sweet!

  10. Roseanne: I’m pleased to see #3 on your ToDo list is still intact. These coming days before the holidays will be most tempting to ignore your own ‘stress-free needs’ in the name of ‘doing/giving to loved ones’.
    Stay strong, girl!
    BTW: Maverick is gorgeous!
