To-Do Tuesday #251 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 251st weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Linda hosts the To-Do Tuesday linky party and we thank you, Linda!

To-Do for the week of April 5th through 11th:

  1. Make Friendship Star blocks for the table runner √ Done
  2. Start sewing the balls for Have A Ball quilt together√ Done
  3. Go vote and attend a baby shower!

To-Do #1

Our Home-Stars table runner for Sue’s sister is coming right along quite nicely. We used the Buggy Barn Basics charm pack fabrics for the homes. We were inspired by and are loosely following the Cottage Stars tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company. The background fabric we chose is a Grunge-ish blue-grey unnamed fabric (there’s no name on the selvage). My favorite star block used to be the Sawtooth version, but this Friendship Star block has won me over lately. First of all, I love the name. Secondly, the versatility and ease of making it so quickly are definitely some advantages that have won me over. Plus, I think these stars are spaced quite nicely over our sweet line of homes.

It’s back to Sue to find a backing and batting, and then we’ll layer it quickly. It should be a very easy piece to quilt once I decide how to do so!

To-Do #2

Since all of the Have A Ball blocks for the quilt for Colt are complete, you would think I would have a quilt top ready, wouldn’t you?! Not quite but it is halfway together with just a photo of one seam going together to show so far.

As our choice for our April OMG focus being half-finished by April 9th makes me tickled pink! More on the baby shower and the gifting of Beau Bear later this week.

To-Do for the week of April 12th through 18th:

  1. Sew the second half of Colt’s quilt top
  2. Layer the Home-Star runner
  3. Start a secret squirrel project
  4. Two Is three just enough to keep it stress-free or is it pushing it?!!

The runner is just beautiful, and I agree the Friendship Star is one of my favorite blocks. I started a friendship star quilt a couple years ago and need to get back to it. Looking forward to your secret squirrel. 😉
Thank you for sharing your post with To Do Tuesday!

Good luck with your week, although 3 might be pushing the rule for keeping it stress free. Of course, you may have an extra day or two off this week, so maybe that helps. Happy Easter early….and have fun at the baby shower.

  5. Those friendship stars in the blue are perfect above the houses. I like a friendship star myself and these look just right. Great that the ball quilt if coming together. I am sure the #3 has some sort of magical quality!

Looks like you have things well in hand! Keeping a light list makes for success. Can’t wait to hear about the Beau Bear!!

That’s an interesting table runner! I can’t wait to see it done! And Colt’s quilt too! It’s sure to be a winner! I’ll be checking back on that pesky squirrel!

  8. Love your Home Star runner, Roseanne! The friendship stars are perfect for it. Glad you’re making good progress on Colt’s quilt, too!

  9. Lovin’ that table runner! A new project…can’t wait to see what you are up to! 🙂

I like how the runner is looking with the addition of the stars. Friendship stars are fun to make and very quick.

  11. Mary says:

That Friendship Stars runner looks great with the grunge-like fabric. It seems like I had to have made a friendship star before, but I can’t think a project. Oh I remember I had started an Aurora Star quilt, pattern by Blossom Heart Quilts which has some friendship stars but only made one block for that project before putting it aside. I don’t remember why I lost motivation for it, but I just might have to pick it up again someday and make some of those adorable friendship stars!

  12. Wendy Tuma says:

That runner is turning out really well! Grunge doesn’t put the fabric names in their selvage, but if you really want to know what it is, give me a yell. I have a Grunge color card and can probably help you out. You have a good list for the week, and a secret squirrel (remember that show??)! How exciting!

  13. Oh I love your table runner! I love friendship stars too but haven’t made any lately (note to self). I did see Colt’s blocks all finished and LOVED it but I can’t remember if I responded on email, Instagram or Facebook about it. It’s a fantastic quilt (now i do remember, I loved the golf block and did comment). What is a secret squirrel project? Sending you hugs and best wishes for a lovely day!
