To-Do #52+46 Weekly Recap Update

This is our 98th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.

To-Do for the week of February 18th through February 24th:

  1. Make Ours a Double blocks – √ done
  2. Add the borders to Dr Seuss #2 of 4  – nada
  3. ?? beats me – √ done

Just in case you missed the winners of our blogiversary giveaway, here they are.  We thank everyone for their participation.  There were 118 entries – Mary and Kathy H were randomly selected.

To-Do #1

A whole bunch of cutting ensured last week, and then we discovered that we don’t have enough fabric for this project.  Another order was made – STAT.  White awaiting the shipment, some sewing ensued.  Of course, I shared my Oops sewing block last Friday.  The star points were sewn on backwards.  Sue cracked the whip Saturday morning, when her mom brought in our shipment delivered the night before.  It was sitting by the front door, but we were having kiddo fun and didn’t check for deliveries.  Nine blocks were all finished by late Saturday afternoon.  A stack of 12 blocks does not a quilt top make.  Will we make it for our February OMG?

To-Do #2

Borders didn’t happen again for this little quilt top this week.  Oh well – who cares.  The annoying thing is that it’s taking up most of the design wall.  Maybe it should come down for a bit!

To-Do #3

Has our mojo left the building?  We just said that we don’t have any exciting project going on right now.  But in fact we have:  Dr. Seuss and Make Ours a Double as mentioned above; Welcome Spring table runner with umbrellas; activity book for Dominic; Hidden Stars ongoing weekly; Rainy Day awaiting quilting; and finally the Autumn Leaf hand-quilting piece that gave Sue trouble.  Nothing going?!  We need a different ‘exciting’ project to start!  Maybe for March since that’s nearing closer and closer.

February OMG

Our February goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts is to complete a quilt top from the Make Mine a Double quilt block.  There is hope.  There is always hope.

To-Do for the week of February 25th through March 3rd

MARCH – how did that happen?!!

  1. Commissioned Dumbo baby quilt – find fabrics, etc.
  2. Start working on Group B for Hidden Stars
  3. ???? – I don’t even care if nothing gets done!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

I just love those double blocks! I’ll be excited to read and see if you made your OMG. Knowing you two and how quick you get things done…I’d say it’s highly likely that it happened! I know, I need to read to find out! And I will!!! LOL!

Love this pattern Is it possible to purchase.

  3. Beth @ Cooking Up Quilts says:

I say if nothing excites you start another one! LOL You’ve got a lot going on and it’s great that you set weekly goals. Those double stars are fantastic!

You have so many projects going on. I don’t know how you do it. I started too many projects last year and nothing got finished so I don’t want to do that again. But I must say I am dying to start something fresh. Maybe dealing with all these UFO’s are keeping me in my funk. I’m still looking for a hand work project to do while travelling so maybe that could be something I could do.

  5. I thought I had signed up for your emails – duh!!! I love those stars! Neat pattern! You have been busy!

  6. chrisknits says:

Fingers crossed you get there, but if you don’t, just grab those babies and console yourself! They will make it all better.

  7. Barbara Esposito, The Quilted B says:

I am with you – start another project! I have several boiling over here as well (hahaha). Misery loves company – not that I am miserable but you get the drift!

  8. Kathryn says:

Ah yes, Feb is a short month, and there it goes! I do hope you get that Feb goal – there are some days left!!

  9. Always hope, and I do believe you can get it! I don’t think I did OMG this month, gotta check. I need to get cracking this week, but hubby wants to go to Maine, so a little more travel time today and either Wednesday or Thursday. But by this afternoon, I hope to be sewing on my hidden stars.

  10. Why wait until March? Get that exciting project going! Haha — then you can start another exciting project in March. Make Mine Double is such a cool quilt; I can’t wait to see the finish (in February). 😀

  11. Another busy week for you two….glad you had some kiddo time over the weekend. Your make mine a double blocks are coming along nicely. Congrats on the commissioned Dumbo quilt!

I so love your weekly goals. I just began a new job and don’t know my schedule day to day. I can’t plan for anything right now. I don’t even know if I’m coming or going. I sooooo miss sitting at my sewing machine and just having creative time. I truly admire your tasks and commitment to keeping lists of goals. Just wanted to say hi and I’m in awe!
