To-Do Tuesday #252 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 252nd weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Linda hosts the To-Do Tuesday linky party and we thank you, Linda!

To-Do for the week of April 12th through 18th:

  1. Sew the second half of Have A Ball quilt for Colty √ Done
  2. Layer the Home-Star table runner√ Done
  3. Start sewing a secret project√ Done
  4. Happy Easter!!

To-Do #1

Since all of the Have A Ball blocks for the quilt for Colt are complete, it really didn’t take long to sew into the quilt top. The hardest part was ironing these because the 15″ block is wider than my ironing board. It makes me long for a different setup for ironing big pieces like this . . . but we don’t make that many big quilts to warrant further investigation. At least not at this time!

This is our April OMG focus and the goal has now been met. I will switch my focus to quilting this in an attempt to get it wrapped up this month and on Colt’s bed.

To-Do #2

Our Home-Stars table runner for Sue’s sister is layered and waiting its turn for quilting attention. We were inspired by and are loosely following the Cottage Stars tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company with a few changes to the house block size. This should be an easy and quick piece to quilt, and I’m leaning towards freehand stars in an all-over design.

To-Do #3

We are doing some secret sewing which, of course, I am not able to share details about. However, I can show you the pretty jelly roll fabric we selected to use. All the details will be shared on Monday, April 25th on a blog hop.

To-Do for the week of April 19th through 25th:

  1. I don’t know – I don’t feel like sewing . . .
  2. Host TGIFF on Friday (22nd)
  3. Two is more than enough to keep it stress-free, especially with waning mojo

Love the have a ball quilt! That just gives me mojo…which will peter out before I finish a project, cuz that’s what I do…LOL We just had a snowfall today. That’s my excuse. Put down one project, pick up a new one.

  4. Oh my, I am in awe of that gorgeous top full of sport balls, I bet he will love it forever. It is a forever kind of quilt. All the best with the quilting on the table runner. And I love the sneak peek of the jelly roll. Colours are great.

Hi Roseanne. I took a week off to see my granddaughter and thought I would feel more like sewing when I got home…but, that didn’t happen. So, maybe Wendy is right. Spring has sprung. In the meantime, Colt’s quilt is looking great. And the table runner is so sweet. I love the Friendship Stars on it. Also looking forward to seeing your secret sewing. That jelly roll has some nice fabric in it. I’m reading “The Boys” by Ron and Clint Howard It is their biography.

  6. “I don’t know – I don’t feel like sewing . . .”

Ha, ha! I can relate! Why do we need permission to take a break? It is good to read a novel, bake, garden, hike, travel, or do anything else that gives us restoration. 🙂

I am loving your to-do’s this year…keeping the stress level down! You sew because you want to…because you enjoy it. It isn’t supposed to be another job…we don’t want another job!

  7. Colt’s quilt is looking great, Roseanne! I love the peek at your jelly roll, too – looking forward to seeing what you make with it. Sending good thoughts for your mojo to come back!

  8. Linda says:

The ball quilt looks quite amazing, and the runner is going to be so pretty!
I’m sorry about your ironing issues. Years ago I bought a kitchen table at Goodwill. It’s one of those farmhouse tables with white legs and pine colored top. I purchased some bed risers to raise it, put a cutting mat on it, and I’ve used it for my cutting table and ironing surface for several years. It does take up some space in my room though!
Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. 🙂
Looking forward to your secret sewing reveal. 🙂

  9. I totally get the waning mojo, Roseanne. That happens sometimes, unfortunately! Take a day or so away and look for some inspiration. It’s OK!! The ball quilt is awesome. I know Colty will love it! The table runner is so cute. I know she will love it. You did well last week and I know you can make it this week! Looking forward to your Monday blog hop!

  10. Great projects!! Colt’s quilt looks fabulous!! Can’t wait to see the secret project!!! Sending hugs!

  11. Dawn says:

Hi Roseanne! Sorry to hear that you lost you mojo. I’m sure you will be back so enough! I really like the ball quilt for Colt. He is so big now! The table runner is cute with the stars in the sky above the houses! I’m sure it will be loved! Secret sewing? I’m also doing some secret sewing for my soon to be born granddaughter. It isn’t 100% secret as my daughter picked the pattern and colors but doesn’t know that I will hopefully have it finished for her ‘Sprinkle’ shower.

  12. Kathleen McCormick says:

You did well last week! Looking forward to seeing your surprise…. Oh and I am hosting TGIFF next week….gone try to get a top quilted…fingers crossed.

  13. Wendy Tuma says:

Apparently Spring Fever has hit, huh? I like your little sneak peek; I haven’t shown a sneak peek of mine because I forget to take pictures. Your projects are all looking great! I know what you mean about those large quilts and getting them ironed, I have the same issue here. That runner is very fun!

  14. Vicki in MN says:

Okay so who came and stole our mojo, mine up and left yesterday and it has not come back home yet! Maybe it’s the weather, it’s dreary out there and the rest of the week doesn’t look any better.
