To-Do Tuesday #222 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 222nd weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Chris at her To-Do Tuesday linky party.

To-Do for last week: July 13th – 19th:

  1. Finish Positivity Corner Plus blocks into a quilt top – √ Done
  2. Continue working on the second Positivity quilt blocks – √ Done

WOWEE! It’s been a while since I shared a weekly to-do update. Thank heavens that Chris took over the hosting for us. Last weekend, I thought about skipping this post. No one really cares what we are working on. But then I shook that thought off on the drive to work Monday morning. I care about sharing what we’re working on! So, thank you for sticking with us through my self-imposed short-term shutdown.

To-Do #1 and #2

We finished both of our Positivity quilts and shipped them off to Bernie. The final linky party and quilt parade just started on Sunday. You are in for a treat when you check out all of the different versions that have been made and shared! It is truly AMAZING how a fabric choice completely changes the whole dynamic of the finished product. Thank you to Preeti for hosting this worthwhile endeavor and to Bernie for collecting all the end results for charity. Woot woot!

To-Do Maybe

So what I can share that might be on a future list? Funny you should ask, even if you didn’t! We have been quietly working on Addison’s ballerina quilt. Just a little appliqué stitching now and then.

Last Saturday night I even shared a video showing how I appliqué and that planning your path first allows you to continue going. I apologize in advance that it’s a bit choppy! I need to have Sue take the video instead of me thinking I can do it. I wish I could share the delightful call we received after Addison saw the video. She said, “thank you” and it’s “gorgeous.” ~smile~

Also, making an appearance on my sewing table is a couple of hexagon shapes using background fabrics that were cut in March. No rush, huh?!

I just love Riley Blake’s fabric lines and her Christmas Traditions one is no exception. I know it’s a shocker but we are actually planning ahead. There are definitely some table toppers in my very near future and I love making them.

September OMG

We completely missed Patty’s Elm Street Quilts OMG linky party for August. You can bet your sweet bibi that we will come up with something for September!

To-Do for the week of August 24th – 30th:

  1. Start adding sashing and borders to Addison’s ballerina quilt
  2. Continue appliqué on table toppers
  3. Celebrate Sue’s mom’s 86th birthday!

  1. Hi Roseanne. It’s so much fun to see the progress on Addison’s Ballerina Quilt. I’m sure she is getting excited seeing how close you are getting to a finish. Your Positivity Quilts are among my favourites. I love the contrast between the two. Isn’t it wonderful that the same pattern can look so different when you just tweak the pattern and make it yours? Especially when you start with a great one like Preeti’s. Good luck with your list! Sorry for being so late to comment. I just haven’t had time for technology these past couple of weeks. 🥴

  2. Ooooh it’s so nice to see you on the blogosphere again! I love Addison’s quilt and can’t wait to see it! I love your positivity quilt!

Are you kidding, we love seeing what you are working on!! How cute is that with Addison saying it’s gorgeous 💕. Ooooh you know I love seeing your table runners come together!

  4. Gail Sheppard says:

Roseanne, it’s always fun to see what you and Sue are working on! I’m sure Addison is going to absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the quilt when it’s done! You’ll have to make sure that you get a video of her seeing it in person! 🙂

  5. Kathleen McCormick says:

Missed you and glad to see what you are working on! What a great phone call to receive from Addison! Good luck with your week!

  6. We’re all just happy to see you back and enjoy seeing what you’re working on, Roseanne! I’m looking forward to seeing Addison’s ballerina quilt – I bet it’s so adorable. Hope work is going well and all the family are happy and healthy!

  7. Rochelle Summers says:

So glad you are back to blogging. I REALLY MISSED YOU when you were on sabbatical! But we all need to take a break once in a while. Love your new fabric and gosh if you can video and sew at the same time, you should not belittle the results. I thought it was well done. Now that ballerina is a bit closer to finished and I’m sure Addison is ready for it. There’s a table runner sew along happening over Labor Day that I’m thinking of doing but making larger so it can be a bed runner. We’ll see if it happens.

  8. Cheree Hull says:

How in the heck did you video AND sew? I didn’t think it was very choppy, esp for a one-woman show! Great job on all and, thinking ahead to Christmas already, eh??

  9. Roseanne, how brave of you to do that video it was so true to life – and I recognize your use of our favorite machine stitch!
    take care

  10. Well, I care about what you are working on, my friend!! I’ve missed your updates and glad you are back!! I can’t wait to see that ballerina quilt!! All the fabric for my tiny dancer quilt came in and I need to get busy on it. Christmas will be here before we know it! LOL Happy, happy birthday to Sue’s mom! You ladies have a great week!

  11. Karla says:

Aww. The ballerina is too cute!

  12. Wendy Tuma says:

I haven’t done a To Do Tuesday post in ages, so I probably should get one done one of these Tuesdays. I’ve changed up my paper list and it’s helping me decide what to work on each day (with the exception of squirrels, of course). You may have storms coming your way, if you are east of us. We have had rocking and rolling storms through the night, and one going through right now – with rain! That ballerina quilt is adorable!

  13. One of the reasons I surf blogs is for the sharing, Roseanne! I find it inspiring and fun, just as if I were with friends in reality instead of virtually. 🙂
