To-Do Tuesday #210 Weekly Listing Update

Join us today for the 210th weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Chris at her To-Do Tuesday linky party. Thanks for the fun, Chris!

To-Do for the week of April 27th – May 3rd:

May already – how is that possible?!!

  1. Set a May OMG goal – √ Done
  2. Get going on Follow Your Own Path – √ Done
  3. Plan for Addison’s big-girl bed quilt – √ Done

To-Do #1

For a quilt of valor using the Road to Oklahoma block, we need to make 35 of them for a decent size lap quilt. It’s our May One Monthly Goal project and we managed to actually get three zero blocks made so far. Zero?! We discovered when we placed them on the design wall that they are pieced incorrectly. Oops. Time for Mr. Ripper to make an appearance.

To-Do #2

We are joining Sandra’s quilt-along called Follow Your Own Path which started in early April. We found the baby-size quilt instructions in the Modern By the Yard ezine, #15. Her QAL runs through mid-June. Sandra has shared her first eight blocks. Lots of vacillating is going on about our place!

Did you know that Follow is 2.5″ strip-friendly? Thanks to Sue for noticing that? We finally selected a Kona solid strip set.

To-Do #3

Speaking of vacillating, that’s what we are doing over Addison’s big girl bed quilt. I ordered a slew of Tula Pink fabrics from the Fat Quarter Shop in a variety of colors.

Some of the Fairy Dust patterns seem quite appropriate for our sweet girl, pictured above in lavender, mint, and lime. We’re working on just the right collection of colors and prints to bring the ballerina idea to fruition.

May OMG

Our one monthly goal (OMG) project for April is to complete the 35 blocks needed for the Quilt of Valor (QOV) gift and Hands2Help project. Patty at Elm Street Quilts hosts a monthly linky party which we did join at the beginning of the month.

To-Do for the week of May 4th through 10th:

  1. Make some CORRECT block for the QOV
  2. Start sewing Follow Your Own Path
  3. Find my sewing mojo and send it in to the sewing room!

Love the colors you chose for Addison’s quilt. Think positive, at least you didn’t have three or even more blocks complete before realizing the error.

  2. So many fun projects on your list! Have fun Roseanne and good luck moving things along

  3. This project seems like a fresh start in creative endeavors…and of course your choice of a polka dotted fabric variant is quite in keeping with your style!

I am with you on the mojo! Camping took me away from the sewing room and it was hard to get back in it today. But I did get a top quilted, so it’s all good. But I still need to work at it. Thanks for linking up with To-Do!

You definitely have some fun projects to work on this month, hopefully once you get back in there again all your mojo will be found.

  6. Brilliant idea to use jelly roll strips for the arrows …
Hope the ‘unsewing’ is now done and you can move forward with sewing … soon you’ll have those 3 blocks done in record time!
    Happy Quilting! 🙂

  7. Oh no on the incorrectly pieced block! It looks great to me, but must not be the block you want. I never thought about the arrow blocks being 2.5 inch strip friendly, but you are so right! Have fun picking fabric for A’s quilt – those you’re showing look so fun.

    Hi,
Love the fabrics you picked for the Ballerina quilt…so pretty.
    Have a great day!

  9. Patricia says:

Before I read your post I thought your block was so pretty and would make cool secondary patterns in a quilt! Oh my, and those fabrics you chose for your ballerina quilt are perfect! How fun to be planning this special project!

I just love the Tula Pink Fairy Dust collection and think it will be a great choice for Addison’s quilt. I might even have it in purple!! The other blocks will be fixed in a trice. I’d send some sewing mojo to you but it is sooo hard to come by right now!! Have a great week.

  11. Oooh, what great fabrics! Love Tula Pink. You really can’t go wrong with any of Tula’s fabrics, IMO!!!! These are awesome! Sorry you had to bring out the Ripper. But I know you will get those done!! Have fun with Follow Your Own Path. Looks like a good one!

  12. Nanette Chopin Cook says:

Great goals! Love that RTO block! Hugs

  13. Wendy Tuma says:

Those fabrics will be so fun! I’m sure you’ll get those blocks fixed quickly and be on to the finish of the top!

  14. Barbara Esposito says:

You guys get the BEST fabrics! Can I come play in your fabric stash? Pretty please? Would you be kind enough to share what the background fabric for “Follow” is? And with hall those cool projects going I hope your sew-jo shows up sooner rather than later!
