To-Do #52+6 Weekly Update
This is our 58th edition of our weekly to-do list. We share this post on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays. Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~
To-Do for the week May 14th through 20th:
- Sew I Spy rows together – √ done
- Add sashing strips to table topper – √ done
- Continue quilting Evening Star – √ done
- Continue Spring table runner – √ done
To-Do #1
The I Spy quilt needs to be sewn into a flimsy, as we really need the design wall. Our sweet boy would enjoy it without a doubt, and now I have to figure out how to quilt this. Oh boy, here is the quilter’s paralysis as Liz from Savor Every Stitch discussed in her intro post tips. I definitely suffer from that. This quilt top went together quickly I am happy to say, without any issues.
To-Do #2
Sue did all the sewing on our table topper. It is all together and awaiting its turn for quilting. This GK topper contains many blocks that I really enjoy, which I forget until I look at them again. Another worry about how to quilt this, especially the window block.
To-Do #3
Last week I started quilting the Evening Star quilt. First I had issues because I forgot to lower the feed dogs. After that – the next day – I tried it again with much better success. It is taking me an amazing amount of time to quilt this with rulers, but it is finished now except for the binding. I can’t share a new photo because the Wish Upon A Star blog hop has started and the finished Evening Star is being shown off on Friday. But here is a reminder tease picture from a successful quilting session:
To-Do #4
The Spring table runner is all together, five squares very similar to this photo I shared last week. The only major difference is the background. It is difficult to get a good photo of such a long runner! Now this is back on my work table, so to speak for appliqué. I say stand in line, baby. I have a photo update from Rosalie from the Runner Aways Club that I’ll share later as well.
Extra:
I enlisted my bestie’s help in cutting fabric for the Fireburst QAL. It only took the bribe of a Peppermint Patty.
May OMG Goal:
Our Elm Street Quilts May OMG goal is to quilt and bind the Evening Star quilt. This is also on our PHD list of UFOs. The poor thing has been languishing away since November 2017 but it only needs its binding.
To-Do May 21st through 27th:
- Row 1 of Plus Playtime QAL
- Sew HSTs for Tea Flower
- Start quilting I Spy

I love the Spring Runner block. That is so cute!!
You two are always so productive. So many wonderful projects. Glad you got your groove back. 😊
Reading your to do list is definitely motivating me to create one of my own. I got lost having fun in your I spy quilt looking for fabrics that I have also, 3 so far. LOL. Have a great time quilting all of these fabulous quilts! I am sure you will have no problems once you get started. Your umbrella block is adorable and will be so fun to create and quilt, I hope you share the whole table runner when it is complete. What a great bestie you have to get paid with one peppermint patty! LOL. Thank you for sharing your post and all of your accomplishments. Have a great day!
Your ISpy top looks so fun! And I love the quilting on #3. Wishing I had some of the fabric in my stash for your fireburst quilt along.
Looks like it was a successful week! Here’s to another one. And I Spy some doggies, sharks, and fishies on that top!!
Can’t wait to see the evening star quilt! You two are amazing!
Look at all those checkmarks! I don’t know, though, I think Sue may have to up her ante and ask for at least two peppermint patties! Haha. That one looks kinda small for all that cutting . .
