To-Do #52+18 Weekly Update

This is our 70th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~

To-Do for the week August 6th through 12th:

  1. Finish sewing Luke’s Plus Playtime – √ done
  2. Determine the layout for Pixel Heart – √ done

To-Do #1

The second Plus Playtime for Luke is all together.  Since it is a Christmas present, it is not going to be quilted now – plenty of time for that in the upcoming weeks.

To-Do #2

A while ago a friend of ours asked us to make a quilt for a little girl who lost her mother.  She gave us two boxes of the mother’s clothes, which we washed, dried and started sorting through.  None of them were cotton, so we had to use the June Tailor interfacing like we used on Pat’s t-shirt quilt.  Sue found a heart pattern to use and I’ll share all the details when the project is complete.  Here is the initial layout:

 August OMG

For our Elm Street Quilts’ August OMG we are going to quilt and bind Garden Gate.  This will also complete a UFO from last October.  I bit the bullet and started FMQing the floppy feathers.  It’s about half finished and I’m not bald yet . . .

I have to thank Beth at Cooking Up Quilts for sharing her tutorial on her blog and then mentioning it again just recently.  It certainly inspired me very much!

To-Do August 13th through 19th:

  1. Start sewing the Pixel Heart quilt
  2. Sew the August Fireburst blocks
  3. Rehearsal dinner and William & Nicole’s wedding!
  4. Dominic’s sibling reveal party – care to guess boy or girl?!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Your projects are coming right along. The floppy feathers look good! I still need to try them. Pixel Heart is such a good choice for the little girl. I’m sure she will feel all the love that is going into that quilt.

You’re doing a great job on your floppy feathers. I also read Beth’s post recently. She and you are making it look easy.

You have a busy week ahead! I am guessing girl! But hey, I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right ;o)

That heart quilt project is so precious and will mean so much to the person who receives it. It really defines who we are as quilters and why we do what we do. Your floppy feathers are looking good; like Vicki said – you just have to dig in and do it! It’s such a forgiving design and I hope you’re having fun with it!

  8. Kathryn says:

Good to hear your hair is still with you! I love heart quilts and what a beautiful and touching quilting this will be.

  9. Brenda Ackerman says:

Hello Roseanne; Each and every one of the projects you have shared today are looking fabulous! The Heart Quilt is going to mean so much to the little girl all of her life. Your Freemotion quilting is divine so just do that dancing like we discussed earlier and no more hair pulling or I might have to talk Sue into adding a bit of ….to your drink! LOL. You both have a marvelous day and time at all the Wedding stuff! I will say Boy.

  10. Pixel Heart is such a labor of love…what a blessing it will be for that youngster.

  11. Vicki in MN says:

Good for you getting started on those feathers! You won’t get any better unless you just dig in and do it, and they are looking mighty fine:)

  12. Those floppy feathers are looking good! You have some nice projects lined up!
