To-Do Tuesday #13 & Monday Musing

Two of our friends host a weekly linky party. Brenda at Songbird Designs has a Monday linky party called Monday Musings. Our friend Carol at Quilt Schmidt hosts To-Do Tuesday with a linky party as well. We will share our weekly updates on both of their websites.

To-Do for last week:

  1. Continue on with Chase’s dinosaur quilt
  2. Something else, maybe?!
  3. Two limit list for a stress-free week

To-Do #1

It’s a darn good thing I love to appliqué because this dinosaur quilt has lots of it. I was able to complete all of the appliquéing finished and the last border, too. Now the quilt top is all folded and ready for the longarm. We selected a Grunge polka-dot fabric and a matching Glide thread and pre-wound bobbin set for the quilting.

We’re not sure when we will be able to quilt this but there isn’t a huge hurry. Chase doesn’t have his big boy bed yet, and it’s not on his radar at all. Have you used the Grunge polka-dot fabric? It feels like of slippery to me – different than any Grunge we’ve used before.

To-Do #2

Nothing else was worked on mostly because there just wasn’t much extra time. Sue’s Mom, thankfully, came home from the hospital. Her medications have been adjusted as she was having trouble breathing. She also felt a heaviness in her chest. There will be some follow-up appointments in the next few weeks with a pulmonary specialist and her GP.

To-Do for the week ahead:

  1. Work on some hexagon toppers or runners for our Etsy shop
  2. Something else?!
  3. Two for a low-stress limit!

  1. Oh, I do love that metallic grunge, Roseanne! It being metallic could be why it has a different hand. I’m glad Sue’s mom is home from the hospital. Praying for a speedy and complete recovery. Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings, my friend!

  2. I’m so glad to hear that Sue’s Mom is home from the hospital finally. That can be exhausting going back and forth when your loved one is there. Chase’s quilt is a finished flimsy? Woo Hoo! Well done. Your two item list is such a good idea with work, family and the follow up appointments you will have going on in your life. I did notice the Polka Dot Grunge felt different when I looked at it for a quilt I wanted to make. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday.

  3. Ah a good dinosaur quilt, amazing how loved they are. Looks all organised for the quilting and great there is no rush. Sorry to hear Sue’s Mom hasn’t been well. A worry no doubt. Take care and enjoy whatever you get to sew.

  4. Looking forward to seeing Chase’s dinosaur quilt quilted! I love anything Grunge – especially those dots. I’m sorry to hear that Sue’s mom hasn’t been feeling well – hope it is all figured out soon!

  5. Cheree Hull says:

I have used the grunge polka dot but it’s been awhile, perhaps so? I’m sure Sue’s mom is happy to be home. I hope they find some answers–happy/simple ones!–soon!

  6. Chrisknits says:

Can’t wait to see his quilt finished, you gals do such wonderful appliqué! Prayers for Sue’s mom, it’s such a scary thing when parents get ill. Have a fantastic rest of your week!!!

  7. I’ve been lackadaisical about reading and posting the last few weeks. I’ve got the winter blahs and am read for spring. I’m loving the dinosaur quilts. Colt will love it! Thanks again for including your littles. We are happy to have ours closer once again. But man they are growing up so fast.

  8. Linda says:

Love that Grunge! It isn’t metallic is it? I’ve noticed a different feel to that one. Sorry to hear about Sue’s Mom – heaviness in the chest is so distressing. I hope her diagnosis is easily remedied. Have a wonderful week! 🙂

  9. Karla says:

Chase’s quilt will be awesome! Glad Sue’s mom is home..what a blessing! I love the “spotted” grunge and have used it quite a bit, I don’t remember if found it to be slippery or not. Hope you have a great week!

  10. Vicki in MN says:

Wow I think you made good use of your time on the dino’s, I am impressed you are all done with the top already! Well wishes for Sue’s mom.

  11. Rochelle Summers says:

Congratulations on completing all that appliqueing and getting the border on Chase’s quilt. That was a HUGE job. So sorry to hear Sue’s mom has been under the weather. Hope you and Sue are taking good care of yourselves.

  12. Laura says:

Pretty backing, Roseanne! I am sure glad that Sue’s Mom is doing better! 🙂

  13. Wendy says:

Love the backing you’ve chosen, and it looks like you are ready to go! Chase is going to love it!

  14. Kathleen McCormick says:

Chase’s quilt will be so much fun for him. It may be the overprint of the dots, but I do think the hand is slightly different. It will be fun to see what catches your eye in the next few days. Keeping it simple is a good thing. And, if I didn’t say it before, so glad Sue’s mom is home.
