Three Days – Three Quotes – Day #2

Cindy at In A Stitch Quilting nominated me to participate in the Three Days, Three Quotes challenge.  This is our second day, although I technically wasn’t nominated.  Here is a link to my first quote shared on day #1.

Three Days, Three Quotes Rules

The rules for the Three Days, Three Quotes Challenge are rather simple:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Post a quote for three consecutive days (one quote for each day)
  • Share why this quote appeals to you so much
  • Nominate three different bloggers for each day

Thank you again, Cindy.  My second quote to share is also a simple one:

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

I originally had this picture on the landing page of a weight loss group I hosted back in 2001, but I still think of it today.  No matter what your end goal is, you have to start towards it with one first step.  I think many of my close friends would call me tenacious.  It has always been important to me in my personal and professional life to work toward and have high goals.  I feel that if you do not set the bar high for yourself you cannot expect anything more from others.

In a literal sense, this picture reminds me of my mom.  She and I traveled to Las Vegas many, many years ago.  She had a coupon book with a free keychain from the Tropicana hotel.  We had stayed in the middle of the strip at Harrah’s, and we decided to walk to get the keychain.  I swear the road to the hotel looked just like that picture I have shared!  We did get that darn keychain in rather short order, and then we continued to pick up the other coupon items. ~smile~

If any of my blogger friends would like to join in and share three quotes in three days, I would love to read what inspires you.  If you don’t care to write a post about it, please share in the comments.

That’s another of my favorite quotes. Girl, you hit some good ones! I smiled to think that road would be anywhere near Las Vegas today. The last time I was there, more than a decade ago, it was definitely not like that! LOL It sounds like a wonderful trip with your mother.

  2. Oh, so true (regarding the quote). Sometimes, it’s that first step that is the most difficult and takes the most time to actually accomplish. Later as one looks back, that first step didn’t seem so hard to take. I guess that could be said of a lot of things.

  3. Roseanne, this is such an awesome quote! I just love how you applied it to your personal life. Such a great story of the experience you had with your mom. I learned a lot about you and your lifestyle. ❤️
