SAHRR Stay-At-Home-Round-Robin Details
Happy New Year – Happy 2021! A SAHRR (Stay-At-Home-Round-Robin)! What is that and when does it start . . . is that what you’re wondering?!! We are joining up with six of our quilting blogging friends to host a SAHRR starting officially on January 18, 2021. Typically, a round-robin involves sending your piece off to friends for them to add the next ’round’. Eventually, after all the rounds, the piece would make it back to you nearly complete. In this COVID-era round-robin, all the rounds are sewn and chosen by you. Your mission, if you’d like to join in, is to choose a block that you’d like featured in your quilt. It can be any block you like/love – you’ll be adding seven ’rounds’ to feature or highlight it.
SAHRR Hosts in Round Order:
Here are all our blogger friends who will be hosting a SAHRR round each week:
- Chris @ Chrisknitssews
- Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- Anja @ Anja Quilts
- Us – right here!
- Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- Susan @ Quilt Fabrication
- Gail @ Quilting Gail (it’s Gail’s idea for this fun!)
SAHRR (Stay-At-Home-Round-Robin) 2021 Schedule:
- January 11: Get your blocks ready
- (Chris) January 18: Round 1
- (Emily) January 25: Round 2
- (Anja) February 1: Round 3
- (Us) February 8: Round 4
- (Wendy) February 15: Round 5
- (Susan) February 22: Round 6
- (Gail) February 28: Round 7
Each week will feature a different border or block to be added to your center block. It’s up to you to determine the fabrics used, the size of the border, and whether you will add it to all four sides or less. Our hosts will share their choices and some tips for your success.
Weekly SAHRR Linky Party:
Additionally, each week there will be a linky party to encourage you to share your progress. We will be opening our usual To-Do Tuesday linky party early so you may share. Don’t forget – your first mission is to decide on your center or medallion block. We are all looking forward to seeing your choice.

Consider joining us each Tuesday for our hosted linky party called To-Do Tuesday. Check our sidebar or our Linky Parties page on our website for more quilting fun. Like/follow us on our Facebook page to share photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
This is a great idea! I can control the fabrics and have no one else to blame but myself on the quality of construction. My center will be a new-to-me project that is about 35″ square. Love that the Round decisions are made for me. Will play along until the top has reached its desired size. Liz in Houston
What a great idea!
And now I wish I had an orphan block hanging around! How did you do that Roseanne?! lol
This sounds like fun and I’m rather tempted to put it on my list! I’ll follow along if nothing else!
This sounds very interesting. I might just have to join in.
This is super tempting. I will think about it although I really shouldn’t. There are so many tantalizing quilty things to do in January.
This sounds like such fun, but I’m just going to watch from the sidelines.
I know you’ll have a blast with this! Looking forward to seeing your quilt progress!
I have a block that I’ve dithering about that should be perfect for this! I’ve been thinking about joining To-Do Tuesday for awhile, so this is a good time “to-do” it.
Sounds like fun, Roseanne. I’ll try to join to use up loads of scraps 🙂
Sounds like fun! I’ll cheer from the sidelines – I’m not doing too well keeping up with things yet. =)
This sounds fun and I will be following along, Roseanne! I won’t be participating…I already have a long list that I want to complete, but temptation abounds everywhere! Happy 2021 to you and Sue! 🙂
This sounds like so much fun! Happy New Year!
I think I’ve already bitten off more than I can chew for 2021, but I’m a little tempted. Does the block size matter for the size of the center block? Happy New Year!
Any size you want! But don’t feel like you have to join in – I understand all the temptations that are plentiful right now. ~smile~ Roseanne
Sounds like fun, Roseanne! I’ll be following along, and maybe even sewing along, too!
