New Year New OMG 4-Patch Project

Here it is, January 4th already and it is time to select a new One Monthly Goal (OMG) project for the new year. It seems like it snuck up on us very quickly having just wrapped up the December project and the holidays. It’s back to reality, too, this week as we are both back to work. Sue continues to work from home while I have been driving into the school office. Our 4-Patch Plus is going to be a focus for us.

4-Patch Prettiness

The pattern we chose is called Pinwheels Patches which called for some 30s reproduction fabrics. In the past, I haven’t been a massive fan of 30s fabrics but this pattern design has won me over. For the fabrics, we selected Darlene’s Favorites with lovely small prints in all of our favorite colors.

Most of the design is so simple, calling for three – 5″ squares along with one half-square-triangle portion of a pinwheel. Every block is the same with the placement of the pinwheel spoke changing position as needed.

We needed to select the focus fabrics for the pinwheels first, which we did just as soon as the fat-quarter bundle was unwrapped.

Our pinwheels will feature the same low-volume fabric with a blue, red, or yellow floral print.

4-Patch OMG Project

For this month, our January OMG Project will be to get this project to the quilt top stage. Thankfully, Patty at Elm Street Quilts provides a monthly linky party to link up a project at the beginning of each month. Then, if you complete the goal she has a second linky party at the end of the month to share your finish. Of course, she has wonderful sponsors although I like to play along for the finishing incentive.

♥ ♥ ♥

Consider joining us each Tuesday for our hosted linky party called To-Do Tuesday. January 11th is the launch party for our SAHRR (Stay-At-Home Round-Robin).  Check our sidebar or our Linky Parties page on our website for more quilting fun.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page to share photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!
