Monday Musings & To-Do Tuesday #10

Two of our friends host a weekly linky party. Brenda at Songbird Designs has a Monday linky party called Monday Musings. This is Carol at Quilt Schmidt’s second week of To-Do Tuesday. We will share our weekly updates on both of their websites.

To-Do for last week:

  1. Start on our “last” t-shirt quilt
  2. Add binding to one of three finished quilt
  3. Two limit list for a stress-free week

To-Do #1

Against Sue’s better judgment, we are embarking on another t-shirt quilt. I just cannot say “no” when a friend asks us if we would please make a quilt. This time, the t-shirts are from the granddaughter of an old coworker. She will be graduating in May and heading off to college. From the age of four until now, she has been a huge soccer fan and player. The t-shirt collection shared with us is fairly colorful, don’t you think? We’ve only gotten as far as pulling out all the shirts. The unused ones go back in the tote bags! Stayed tuned for more on this project.

To-Do #2

We managed to get in another longarm session in with our friend, Carol. We finished two during the session, and she had finished one for us. Getting the binding sewn on was an easy task, and I started hand sewing it down to the back of the quilt. This should be finished this week, I hope.

To-Do Stay-At-Home Round Robin

The Stay-At-Home Round Robin 2023 starts next Monday already! Six blogger friends will share the center blocks that we will build our quilts upon. Every Monday thereafter a different compadre will share their suggestion for the round along with tips and tricks. March 13th will be the final parade. There’ll be a weekly linky party AND some giveaways. It’s nine quick weeks of round-robin fun. This year, our project is unique for us as it involves pastels and small pieces. What was I thinking when I thought that was a good idea? ~smile~ We hope you consider joining us. Quilting Gail shared a post with more details about our lovely sponsors.

To-Do for the week of January 16th:

  1. Start working on the “last” t-shirt quilt
  2. Finish binding the Monthly Color Block quilt from 2020
  3. Low-stress limit!

  1. Woo Hoo to having another longarm session of fun! It is addicting isn’t it Roseanne? The t-shirt quilt should be a nice cheerful one filled with memories for your coworker’s daughter as she steps out on a new adventure/stage of her life. What good friends you are to take on another project 😉

For someone who doesn’t have a long arm, you are getting more quilts finished than I am!! LOL. Can’t wait to see the latest ones.

  3. Kate says:

I’ve made one t-shirt quilt and I’m not sure I’ll ever agree to do another! You are brave. Yeah for all the near finishes. Hopefully that means you are making a dent in your UFO stash. I’m really looking forward to the SAHRR. I need to get my center block done!

  4. Susan Nixon says:

So much fun to catch up a little bit.

  5. Oh fun!! I’ve never made a T-shirt quilt so I admire you for doing that! I’m so looking forward to SAHRR this year! Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings!

  6. T-shirt quilts are not my favorite project either, Roseanne, but their recipients do love them! Hooray for more finished quilts, too. Looking forward to the next session of SAHRR!

  7. Judy says:

Glad to see you are keeping to a 2 item list! But I also am aware of a couple of DrEAMI car quilts that happened! I’m glad you shared that! Every little needs a car quilt for winter!

  8. Linda says:

Well it looks like Sue is at least still speaking to you after taking on the t-shirt quilt. 😉 I’ll look forward to that longarm session play-by-play! Hope you have a great week. 🙂

  9. Nice work looks like you are moving ahead. A long arm is so good isn’t it, imagine two quilts in one day! You. are very good to be doing another t-shirt quilt and the colours look like they will play well together. All the best for the coming week.

  10. Rochelle Summers says:

For a limit of two projects, you ladies keep really busy. Of course the long arm day was just for fun so it doesn’t count. Once upon a time I was going to do a t-shirt quilt from all the super hero or band t-shirts my grandson was wearing. But…. I ducked out of that one! So nice to see projects getting completed. Do you think you want a LA machine and would you have any place to set it up?

  11. Nanette Chopin Cook says:

Those T-Shirt quilts are a job in itself! I have never done one, guess I figured I would screw it up! LOL. Hugs

  12. I can’t wait to see 2020’s Color Block quilt all neat and tidy done!
    🙂

  13. Wendy says:

You’ve been busy once again – Sue looks pretty ready to go surrounded by those t-shirts. It will be fun to see that one progress. I have two t-shirt quilts on my to-do list, waaaay down at the bottom. Haha. Looking forward to hearing more about your LA session!

  14. Vicki in MN says:

I am so glad you finally got another LA session and have great progress! I hope you will show us the quilts all laid out in another post. And tell us about this second session.
