I Love Thursday #266 Plentiful Blessings

This is the 266th post of things we love for the week. We post each Thursday along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share every week – be sure to check them out as you will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

Weather!!! Temperatures on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday were in the 60s and mid-70s. That’s in Wisconsin in February. WHAT?!! Not to worry because Wednesday it’s supposed to snow with a high of 29. Seriously. I don’t know why we can’t shake viruses. Sue has been hacking up a lung for weeks now. I’ve been avoiding it all until this week. Waaaaa. I don’t want to be sick any longer. We are both done. D.O.N.E. Mike drop, done.

Love #2

Squirrel posse. Oh yeah, the squirrels have been running rampant in our sewing room. Even though we still aren’t 100%, we can still wander about and sew a little. My mind hasn’t stopped working! So, I’ve picked out a few friends for my squirrel posse . . . who’s in yours? I’m probably the one in the middle with my arm around Sue. The big guy in the back means bidness. Who’s gonna mess with this posse?!

Love #3

Pine tree condo! I had to share this cool photo of the backyard pine tree condo. Of course, I don’t know why these two male cardinals are sharing the same evergreen tree with the female in between. Maybe she can’t make up her mind and she hasn’t mated with one of them yet? Maybe they are siblings just chatting during the day, keeping an eye on things. I don’t know, but it’s a sweet picture.

Love #4

Fine Book Cellar. Ah, yes. A book can age like a fine wine, getting better the longer it ages. I like the idea of that. We have a library in our home just bursting with books doing a wee bit of aging. I have some that I will be reading this year with any luck. How about you? Do you have any books aging in your bookcase/cellar?

Our littles . . . well, this happened without much fanfare. Maverick turned four months old already. The little bruiser weighs 19.6 pounds. Yup, my triceps get a good workout when lifting him out of his car seat or giving him a bottle. Did you know there is another formula shortage? We had a few weeks with a scare but found a replacement that agrees with his tummy and taste. Phew! That was nerve-wracking.

Just three days later, our sweet Chase turned three. We had a fire truck cake and chocolate chip cookies. Everyone sang and the birthday boy enjoyed himself very much. Our littlest littles are growing up right before our eyes. Yikes! All the other events and happenings can wait for next week. Mav and Chasey say have a wonderful Thursday! We wish you a great one, too.

Roseanne – being sick is no laughing matter, but the way you wrote it just made me giggle, as did most of your post – so entertaining and just what I needed! And thank you for the parallel between books and a wine cellar – you have now absolved me of all my book guilt! Joining you from I Like Thursday.

The cardinal condo is such a cool photo! Sorry both you and Sue can’ shake the winter respiratory stuff. It’s not fun to not feel well. It does seem like the weather is just wacky everywhere. We have high winds, but no snow. I’m glad to not be in the California mountains this weekend.

  3. Another delightful post, Roseanne. Love the squirrel posse! and the memes about the weather…crazy here too this winter. And that photo of the cardinals is beautifull! And I agree with the idea of books aging and suiting just the right moments in life. That Maverick, what a beautiful boy…all the children in your family are! Hi to Sue.

No way he is three!!! Just like I can’t believe Rowdy turned 1 today. I don’t feel any older!! Well, most days I don’t. LOL

  5. I hope both you and Sue feel better each day! It’s good you can still sew and read – that’s what keeps me sane. I love the squirrel posse and the cardinal condo – those are fun pictures! Happy Birthday to the boys!

  6. Yep, those littles grow up WAY to quickly!! Our girl turned 15 Saturday and got her permit on Monday! Whhhhhaaaaa??? Love the squirrel posse and the temperature memes too. Those cardinals are gorgeous!

Cardinals are such a pleasure to see. The pop of colour really adds to a dreary day!

I have seen the squirrel posse sneaking around, and I am doing my best to ignore them! However, like books, I do have many projects (and books) waiting for the right time! The cardinals are great…we don’t have them in my neck of the woods! Get well soon, and may the rest of your year be virus free, since you are getting it out of the way now! πŸ™‚

Wonderful likes all around. The Kermit memes made me laugh. Both of those apply to our weather this week. Like that squirrel posse! No books aging here – my books are more like takeout. I keep an eye on what I haven’t tried in a while, and order it at the library for pick-up.

Wonderful likes. Love the books. Have always been a reader and always “saved” that special book to read at just the right time. Hope you and Sue can shake those bugs but it is really hard when the weather keeps going crazy. Same thing here! Kermit has it right. And those squirrels are so cute. Cannot believe that Maverick is already 4 months old. What a big boy he is. And Chase is 3!!! Time sure flies. I hope you have a great weekend. We are set for snow here (the biggest of the year so the weatherman says). Hugs!! And smiles.

Love the squirrel posse. Mine has shown up this week and we are having a blast. It’s all a little nuts – LOL. I enjoy watching the cardinals in our backyard, too – they have really been present this year. Those littles are definitely growing too fast!

Love the cardinal condo! Funny to see two males and a female. Hard to believe Chase is 3 and Maverick is 4 months. Time flies. Blessings on the rest of the week and hope that you are done with the “sickness”. I am finishing my second cold of the year….not bad but totally annoying!
