April OMG Project It’s A Two-Fer

It is time to decide and announce our April OMG project.  Patty at Elm Street Quilts hosts a monthly goal setting linky party, and this is our four month to join in.  This link up has given us the motivation to complete each month’s goal.  Our April project is a two-fer goal.  Not only will it meet this goal when it is complete but it will also advance our progress on our PHD (projects half done) goal.  It’s great when one completion can meet two goals!

Two-Fer Project

This month we plan to layer, quilt and bind the second Animal panel baby quilt.  About a year ago, we traveled to Arizona to visit friends.  While there, we snuck in a few quilt shop visits and picked up what we through were two different animal panels.  Once home, we discovered they were actually the SAME animal panel in slightly different colorways.

Here’s the first animal panel for GG, shown with two of her great-grandsons.  That was back in October, when peewee was only a month or so old.  Here are the two different colorways with the one on the right already complete.

There are subtle differences between the two panels, like the dachshund in turquoise or blue and the border surrounding it in orange or red.  I don’t know how we thought these were two different panels quite honestly!

So here’s to getting the second animal panel quilted and in to the hands and little fingers of a baby.  We’ll share an update with the completed quilt by the end of the month, hopefully!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

They are adorable panels. How funny that they are just slightly different enough to seem like two different panels.
