To-Do Update #51 – April Already!

This is our 51st edition of our weekly to-do list.  Did someone get you yesterday for April’s Fool Day?  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Monday, and Tuesday’s linky party can be found on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website. ~smile~

To-Do for the week March 26th through April 1st:

  1. Sew at least two more rows of Postcard – √ done
  2. Buttonhole another row on Jigsaw – √ done
  3. Start an I Spy quilt for Dominic – √ done
  4. Hoppy Easter and Happy April Fool’s Day

To-Do #1

Last week, I chain pieced rows 11 through 17.  Then I ironed rows 11 and 12, and started trimming them.  Sue had a late meeting so I quickly sewed those two rows together but didn’t iron them or add them to the bigger pieced set.  That was Tuesday and I didn’t go back in the sewing room the rest of the week.  Until Saturday.  I was on a mission, and guess what is now a complete flimsy??!!  Yes indeed, Postcard is all together.  I was celebrating no more trimming until Sue burst my bubble and reminded me that I’m making some pillow shams too.  Oh shoot.  Wanna see a sneak peak?  I’ll share a post later this week . . .

To-Do #2

Buttonholing on rows 5 and 6 did indeed happen this past week.  I added them to the design wall rows from last week.  Three more rows to go and then . . . should we add a border or not??

Jigsaw 6 rows

To-Do #3

Dominic does need an I Spy quilt, and Dr. Auntie Claus Sue started going through our stash.  She says we need at least 99 blocks . . . we have a ways to go!  Dominic will be in school by the time we collect enough fabric.

I Spy 1

Only 70 or so more to go . . .

To-Do #4

Check out Sunday’s post for an adorable picture and a genuine wish from Dominic. ~smile~

April OMG Goal:

Our Elm Street Quilts April OMG goal is to quilt and bind the second animal panel quilt.  This is also on our PHD list of UFOs.

To-Do April 2nd through April 8th:

  1. I’m bored with all our ongoing projects – I have no idea what we’ll work on this week.  It will be a shock to all of us!

We wish you a week filled with many blessings and good sewing/quilting vibes!

  1. Roseanne, congratulations on the quilt top finish. That went together a lot quicker than I thought. Where’s the photo? 😊

I know – many projects and suddenly the boredom sets in. So a good idea to stop, step back and wait till your heart speaks. Whatever you get into all the best for it.

  3. Terri says:

I have quite a few novelty prints that I’d love to give you. Tell me the size of square and send you boy-ish ones I have. No child should have to wait for 4-5 years for a quilt!

There are three more ISpy fabrics coming your way. Sorry I didn’t have more that were all cotton.

  5. You are very ambitious!!! I am in love with your puzzle quilt. Is it applique? I assume that why you are using the buttonhole stitch . Either way, you are doing a great job!❤️❤️

  6. Shannon Fleming says:

Postcard top all done…yay! Focus will keep your mind from wandering!

  7. Vicki in MN says:

I hear ya on the bored with all your projects-but keep the final goals in mind and you will be fine;)

  8. I’m not even posting today (and didn’t Wednesday either). I have my nose to the sewing needle, working on Postcard. Ready to be done with it, so I can sew other stuff!!

Great list! What size squares are you collecting for Dominic’s quilt? I can check my stash and send you some more. I am always doing I spy quilts.
