Last week Friday I mentioned the issues we were having with this table runner since we shortened the table runner by one snowman.  We forgot to adjust the little blocks running around for the outside border.  Oops!

Our second Dr. Seuss quilt has its layout determined, and solid black Moda sashing is up next in the project.  Here are the blocks on our design wall.

Susan Marie decided that we needed to make NINE different types of desserts for our Christmas selection.  NINE!  Besides the two recipes that we shared in the virtual cookie exchange earlier this month, we tried some recipes from the 2017 We Energies Cookie Book.  They include Cheese Cookies, Carrot Cookies w/Goat Cheese (we are calling them Reindeer cookies), and Coffee Shorts.  I talked her out of the coffee shorts because who wants to bite into a coffee crystal?!  Additionally, peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chunk, and pecan dreams were made along with mocha cheesecake for Dominic’s dad (and me!).

A house full of people is just the best.  Sue’s mom and dad, sister and her whole family, and her brother’s son and his whole family gather on Christmas Eve at our house.  It is so much fun eating, laughing, chatting and just hanging out.  Dominic was busy enjoying his older cousins – he wants to be a big boy and run and play with them.  Soon, grasshopper.  Too soon!  One nephew has a new girlfriend who joined us and fit right in.  Here’s peewee making himself laugh!

December OMG Goal:

  • Complete the appliqué of the nautical pieces for both pillow shams – the pillow shams are complete and have been delivered!  I will be sharing another post featuring them this week!  Yippee!

To-Do December 25th through 31st:

  1. Get busy on Dr. Seuss
  2. Make a list of our UFOs
  3. Prepare for the Regatta sew along starting January 1st

Oh my goodness, less than one week left in 2017!  That is so hard to believe.  Only six short days until the Regatta Quilt Sew Along starts.  Click the link if you’d like more details and would like to join us.  I wish you a week filled with many blessings!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

  1. Looks like Dominic was the hit of the party. it is always so much fun to have a little one in the crowd. Sounds like you have your work all scheduled out for the next week. Every time I think I am going to get caught up I realize I forgot about a few things.

It’s a pretty light week . . . but now that I’m feeling better maybe we’ll crank out some stuff. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Roseanne, love how the Dr. Seus blocks are looking. This should be very cute when it is all finished! 🙂

Our Christmas day was so quiet and peaceful here on the farm. I sewed and my husband napped and watched basketball. Today is back to the real world, the farm books needs to be updated and the start of 2018 means pulling all the information together to take into the tax preparer. Farm income taxes are due March 1st and that date rolls around faster every year! I’m hoping to get all the necessary bookwork completed to date so I can join in the sew along on January 1st.

      Hi Gretchen,
The nice and quiet Christmas day sounds wonderful. Oh boy, that’s a lot of information to gather together by 3/1. It sounds like it is very capable hands and that you will get it all sorted out. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
