To-Do Monday #7 Weekly Update

Join us today for the weekly To-Do Tuesday Monday list #7 and update. Linda hosts the To-Do Tuesday linky party and we thank you so much, Linda! Many of our friends join in and share their ongoing projects and recent finishes. Be sure to check it out. Linda’s reign of hosting is coming to an end next week. The friendships made will not end, though! I’m linking today with Brenda at Songbird Designs. She has a Monday linky party.

So Fine thread is on sale today at Green Fairy Quilts! They have it on sale for 40% off.

To-Do for last week:

  1. Lots of non-sewing events!
  2. Hot Wheels car quilt started
  3. Two limit list for a stress-free week

To-Do #1

We spent the weekend in Indianapolis. My brother and sister-in-law moved there to be near their son and his extended family. What a wonderful blessing it was to see them. First, we picked up my sister and the three of us headed south. Did we remember to take a picture? No, we did not. It wasn’t until we returned home that we thought of it. Good grief! A roomful of adults with cell phones and not a single one of us said, let’s take a picture. Darn it. We’ll have to go back again and remedy that oversight.

To-Do #2

The backing for the Barbie car quilt still isn’t here so that can’t be complete. I hope my mojo is still around when it does show up! You just never know – mojo is a quickly fleeting thing sometimes.

After all the hard work Addison and Gamma put in to get a layout they loved, it’s hard to wait for the completed quilt. But alas, we all have to learn to be patient don’t we? Dominic loves Hot Wheels, especially the So FAST, So COOL logo. Sue “photobombed” the layout we sent to Gamma for approval. Then, there was a closeup that shows some of the fun fabrics like the tire tracks or skid marks.

To-Do Stay-At-Home Round Robin

The Stay-At-Home Round Robin 2023 is right around the corner. In just a few short weeks (Monday, January 16), the festivities begin. Six blogger friends will share the center blocks that we will build our quilts upon. Every Monday thereafter a different compadre will share their suggestion for the round along with tips and tricks. March 13th will be the final parade. There’ll be a weekly linky party AND some giveaways. It’s nine quick weeks of round-robin fun. This year, our project is unique for us as it involves pastels. ~smile~ We hope you consider joining us.

To-Do for the week of December 20th through 26th:

The week of Christmas! Holy moly time is flying by.

  1. Host a breakfast feast at work; host Christmas Eve; celebrate Christmas Day
  2. Longarm quilting day #2 – the saga continues
  3. Low-stress limit!

  1. Roseanne it sounds like your getaway was perfect; too busy visiting to think of taking pictures. Perfect! Looking forward to seeing those two sweet quilts finished. Happy New Year to all πŸ₯³

  2. That hot wheels quilt is going to be fantastic! I know Dom will love it! I totally understand about fleeting mojo! LOL So glad you had time to spend with your family in Indiana. Family time is precious!! Have a great week. Thanks for linking up with Monday Musings!

Best wishes on your season of celebrating!! May all your fabric arrive, your mojo stick around, and your season be Merry and Bright! And next time you come to Indy you are getting in touch with me!!! Even if it’s to let me drive by and say hello out of the car window! LOL

  4. Pastels, now that will be something I’ll look forward to seeing. Pity you forgot the photos but yes, you will need to go back. What kind of trip is that in terms of time? Yes mojo is a slippery thing for sure. And you work as well, so more challenging.

  5. I love seeing your Addison laying out her Barbie quilt! Merry Christmas to all of you. And I ought to have a big sign in my studio that says β€œLong Arm Quilting: The Saga Continues because that’s pretty much the story of my life these days! πŸ™‚

  6. Kathleen McCormick says:

What fun to visit newly nearby relatives! I know, I am not good at picture taking once the fun starts. I love seeing Sue in the phot and the quilts looks fab. Hope that Barbie backing arrives soon….it is such a pain waiting. Merry Christmas to all!

  7. Your weekend in Indianapolis sounds so fun! It’s always great to be around family. That picture of Addison laying out the Barbie squares is just precious! That quilt will be worth waiting for. Have a wonderful and low stress Christmas weekend, Roseanne!

How many times have I said, Darn! We should have taken photos! But the visiting is always fun. Whether you start or finish anything, playing with fabric is always fun. And how about the LA Quilt Day on the 26th!!! I hope you have just as much fun as last time!! Wed afternoon the granddaughters come in and we will have a fun time for a few days. No sewing. Just visiting and eating. I hope you have a world of fun with all your family and friends. Many Hugs.

  9. Gail Sheppard says:

I LOVE that you are keeping to your “No Stress” list! And you still get a lot done!

Obviously when you were visiting with your brother & SIL, you all were having such a great time, that taking a photo was not that important! The memories will still be there!

    Have a great week!

  10. Laura says:

It is a wonderful thing when you are enjoying family so much that you forget about phones! Love!
Thanks for the heads up on So Fine…I joined the email list but never received one. Guess I will join again! πŸ™‚

  11. Wendy says:

We visited Indy a few years ago, and got to stay at the Conrad – which was very fun! I enjoyed the city. I bet you are waiting for that Barbie backing to arrive – hope it gets there soon so the quilt can get finished. Fun to see Sue photobombing, too – and that cute fabric!

  12. Nanette says:

Rosanne – who hosts the Stay at home RR? Are you hosting it? I cannot remember. Jealous about your getaway, but right now too many illegals and Flu! It is good to see a young person interested in quilting. Hugs.

  13. Karla says:

Good morning! Glad you had fun in Indy…we are guilty of forgetting to take pictures also! I love the pink and black Barbie fabrics — Addison is so cute!
    Enjoy your week my friend!

  14. Linda says:

Your getaway sounds fun! We forgot to get anything besides a selfie at the Nutcracker yesterday, so I hear you on the photo forgetfulness. Love the photo bomb of Sue. πŸ™‚ Sorry the Barbie backing has not arrived, something to look forward to! I want to attend your breakfast feast! You must share your menu. πŸ˜‰ Thank you in advance for sharing with To Do Tuesday!

  15. Vicki in MN says:

You must not have had the snow like so many that you were still able to travel? But how fun to have a little get away, I am sure it did a world of good. I am sure you will power through at getting the Barbie quilt done when the backing arrives, all you have to do is think of the sweetie that is getting this quilt:)
