To-Do Tuesday #232 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 232nd weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Linda who is hosting the To-Do Tuesday linky party. Thank you, Linda!

To-Do for last week October 26th – November 1st:

  1. What?? How, oh how, can it be November already??
  2. A whole lot of nothing going on – √ Done
  3. Great job on doing nothing! – √ Done

To-Do #1

Well, well, well. (Imagine little Addison saying that with her hands on her non-existent hips). Just how did it get to be November already?! Wasn’t it just yesterday that it was summer, early, of course, because we never get Spring weather. The months remaining in the year loomed ahead of us with no thoughts of 2022 at all. And now . . . egad. It’s just THREE weeks and change until it’s Thanksgiving Day and then just a short FOUR weeks until Christmas. We still haven’t decided what we’re doing for either holiday yet. Yikes. There will probably be turkey shortages . . . but who cares?!!

Not to get you in a panic or anything, but I sure am pleased as can be that the Thanksgiving topper was a wrap with time to spare!!

To-Do #2

I have nary an update to share on Ellie and her skipped stitches situation. One week has flown by with only two (at most) to go. Hope springs eternal that it will be ready earlier!

To-Do #3

Always ever hopeful, I am blessed to have a spare sewing machine to use. Relearning skills is good for the brain, right?! Lili is quite happily sewing quarter-inch seams for me, and now there are three of the dark colors of the leader/ender project all sewn. That leaves only seven to go – I’ve got to put some pressure on my Sue sous chef. Chop, chop – you’re holding up the process. HAHAHA – I crack myself up!

Another panic was avoided! Recently, I remembered the Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange commitment. Although it’s not until December, one has to have an idea and fulfill it prior to that! I very cleverly thought of a good idea (!!) . . . too bad I can’t tell you about it. Let me say and advertise the hop, though – December 6th – 9th. Carol at Just Let Me Quilt is the hostess and there is a fabulous group of friends that participate. Yummy recipes, cute holiday-inspired projects, and even giveaways. We might just be having one ourselves – you’ll have to tune in on December 9th to check it out. ~smile~

To-Do for the week of November 2nd – November 8th:

  1. Beats me – whatever floats my boat. Maybe some leader/enders if I can get Sue to cooperate. Otherwise, I’ll just have to play with the littles. HAHA!
  2. Browse around on Pinterest, read blogs and otherwise find some new inspiration for projects for 2022 and beyond. We need a whimsical idea for a baby quilt . . . and a general sports idea/inspiration for a full-size quilt for Colt. So many options – we need to narrow our focus.

  1. Hi Roseanne. Another fun topper finished! Good on you, especially with Ellie still being at the spa! Sounds like a perfect week of “doing nothing” but gathering inspiration and planning new projects! I can imagine the hands on hips/sweet little voice commenting! 😉

  2. Chris says:

I don’t even have to think about 2022, I already have dozens of ideas to start whenever fancy and time allows! And maybe some hold over ufo’s from 2021’s list too. Gah!

  3. Denise says:

The phones are quiet and I had to stop by to catch up. The topper is adorable and yes I could see her with her hands on her hips, so cute. Last night I was just reminding my husband how many days were left in the year smh the whole time. Where the heck has the year gone? It doesn’t feel like fall. We just now have a fire going in the wood stove, since this past weekend. There were fresh roses on the bush when the cold snap set in. Never have I ever had roses this late in the year but I am certain we will pay for it with another extended winter. On another note, there is a plan for my Cookie Exchange day 🙂 Now I am off to snoop around some more. Good luck on your To-Do list.

Fun post – my favorite this week! Your table topper is gorgeous. I’m trying to finish the Autumn Jubilee quilt and hope to hang it on our wall before the kids arrive at Thanksgiving. I haven’t picked my Cookie Exchange project yet!
Thanks so much for linking to To Do Tuesday. 😀

  5. Sharon says:

Aren’t you just having a good ol’ time while your machine is away at her Spa Retreat! Hope she returns soon and sewing will be back to normal. Your Thanksgiving Topper is adorable!

  6. You’ve had one of those weeks that we’ve all had, and that’s how it goes sometimes! I’m sorry Ellie is still under the weather – hope she’s back and working again soon. And I guess I’d better go looking for a turkey!

  7. Gail Sheppard says:

    LOL!!!!
I’m so glad that you’ve done really well at “a whole lot of nothing.!” I think we all need that sometimes!
Happy doing “whatever floats your boat.” But I’m sure that playing with the littles with take priority! Have fun!

  8. Rochelle Summers says:

Ha, Ha, Ha!! Love this post and your “devil my care” attitude. It is refreshing. Turkey shortages…okay by me! Though my machine is back from the shop and I’ve been using it, I’m not running it ragged. There is some reading going on and some leaf raking and a LOT of procrastination. And yes, I can definitely picture Addison with hands on hips! I was counting the days til Christmas yesterday and wondered how the others flew by so fast I never saw them. Have a great week of doing whatever!!

  9. Wendy Tuma says:

November already – and yesterday I saw with my own little eyes some white stuff in the air – noooooooo! I’m definitely floatin’ my boat over here, thinking I’m caught up a need to do stuff, so I’m likely forgetting something. No post today, no idea what I’m sewing today. Yep, pretty sure I’m missing something! LOL So Sue is holding you up??? Hahahahahahaha – yeah, right.

  10. Kathleen McCormick says:

Oh my, hoping your machine gets home soon. Yes, time has flown this fall for sure. Can’t wait to see your cookie hop idea….I am so out of them these days.

  11. Mary says:

Roseanne, you are definitely queen of the table toppers. How fun that you have a collection of different seasonal toppers that immediately add holiday cheer. Have a great day, Mary.

  12. Sometimes, a “whole lot of nothing” week is just needed!! It’s OK. Let yourself enjoy it while you scour the ‘net for new inspiration!!

  13. ‘Great job doing nothing.’ I commend you! Ha, ha!

I don’t have Betty Boop back yet, either, so projects languish while I do nothing as well. 🙂

  14. Hey Roseanne! Enjoy your ‘whole lot of nothing’ – it’ll soon turn into ‘too much of everything’!
    HA!
Kudos to Lili (you need to speak praises clearly in front of her or else she’ll get cranky that you’re just using her while waiting for Ellie’s return)!
    🙂
