To-Do Tuesday #230 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 230th weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Two Hundred Thirty to-do lists with varying success – that’s a LOT! Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Linda who is hosting the To-Do Tuesday linky party. Thank you, Linda!

To-Do for last week October 12th – 18th:

  1. Continue sewing and cutting for the Two by Four QAL – √ Done
  2. Finish up the Thanksgiving table topper – √ Done
  3. Start working on a Christmas topper for Nicole – √ Done

The Ghastly Ghouls blog hop started yesterday and I shared all of the participants in a post, if you’d like to check it out! Our day is Thursday.

To-Do #1

Last week, we shared our pathetic progress with Katy and Deanna in their Two By Four QAL. Since then, more cutting on the dark fabrics has happened but we aren’t that much closer to having a quilt top. There is still oodles of sewing in my very near future but that’s okay. A leader/ender project is supposed to take some time, right?!!

To-Do #2

Yup, this weekend I was much more productive!! I can’t say “we” because Sue wasn’t down and out last weekend – it was all me. It’s a bit hard to see but I did a quick crosshatch on this topper.

The best thing was when Sissy saw it and said, “I can hardly wait to put this one out!” We are all happy with the finished product. Sue pulled out our Thanksgiving stuffed pilgrims to add to the photo.

To-Do #3

A Christmas topper similar to the one we made for ourselves is in the works for Nicole. We called ours Sugar Cubes and Cookies and we stuck with our favorite hexagon shape for these toppers.

I’ll start the appliqué process soon and with any luck this will be ready for the table right after Thanksgiving. I suspect that’s when she starts decorating for the holidays.

A Little Extra To-Do!

I had to take in Addison’s leggings now that the weather is getting colder. That girl is so skinny that her legging just slide down those nonexistent hips. Auntie Sue and I were nearly mooned when her favorite pink legging slid down and almost took her undies with them. We can’t have that, now can we?!!

To-Do for the week of October 19th through 25th:

  1. Layer and start quilting the massive ballerina quilt
  2. Start working on a Christmas topper for Nicole
  3. Visit good friends who moved to a new home!

You had me laughing out loud … literally! Almost being mooned! LOL!! That’s one way to get someone to do alterations! 🙂
Glad to see that the ballerina quilt is in the plans!!! you KNOW I want to see it!!
Have a great week accomplishing your to-do list!

That Thanksgiving topper is perfect with the cross hatch quilting! You two make the most adorable hexie toppers! Love the Santa version. And Hello again- from months of being silent!

  5. Mary says:

You are the queen of the holiday table toppers! I love them all! And you’re right that a leader/ender project is not meant to be rushed!

  6. Chrisknits says:

I love the Santa and Reindeers 2nd version!!! I liked the first one too. LOL! Good luck with your list for this week!

You have been quite busy. All those pieces for the two and four quilt look overwhelming. I like the idea of it being a leader/ender project as it takes away the pressure. Your Thanksgiving table topper is very nice and it is wonderful to get that instant enthusiastic response! Oh, yes. Had kids like that. At the time a belt was the answer. Now with leggings… A wonderful auntie for fixing that issue. Have a great week. I’ll see your Thursday reveal next week as we’ll be on the road for 4 days.

  8. Kathleen McCormick says:

Oh, those littles with no body fat or curves! Glad you were able to get somethings done and can now forge ahead! Love the fall piece and the winter pieces. Good luck with your week.

  9. Love those hexie toppers! (Mine’s ready to use for this season!!!)

  10. The Thanksgiving topper is so fun, Roseanne – congratulations on your finish! I suspect a lot of us wish we had Addison’s problem, lol! I bet that will be a quick finish. Have a great week, Roseanne!

  11. Sissy’s table topper looks great!! It does a heart good when you hear comments like she made about adding it to her table!! I couldn’t help but laugh at your comment about Addison’s nonexistent hips!! Our boys are the same way! My daughter buys them (when she can find them) the jeans that have a drawstring inside the waist. They are so tall, it is really hard to find them long pants and jeans!! Have a great week, Roseanne. I can’t wait to see that ballerina quilt!!! I’ll be hosting TGIFF this week, if you want to link up something!!

  12. Wendy Tuma says:

I’m not sure I’d tackle the leggings, but if it’s for Addison, that’s a different story, right?! You’re doing well on the Two and Four – it’ll start taking shape in no time!

  13. Cheree Hull says:

The cross hatch looks great! And your little matching decor pieces make a such a fun setting. And what a good auntie (auntie, right?) you are! As much as I used to LOVE making and even altering clothes when I was younger, I cringe at altering now.

  14. Linda says:

    Yay on your goals! 😀
Ah, I see mention of the Ballerina quilt. 😉 Good luck with it! LOVE your Thanksgiving topper. The cross hatch quilting looks really good on it.
Welp, your Two by Four has inspired a new project (can we say “Squirrel”?) for me. I’m going to use the pattern somehow with the leaf pattern on From My Carolina Home to make a fall quilt and see what I come up with!
Thank you for joining with To Do Tuesday!

  15. Vicki in MN says:

You are such a good auntie to fix the leggings for A. How fun to hear Sissy is so anxious to put out the Thanksgiving topper, it really did turn out super cute!
