To-Do Tuesday #22 & Monday Musing

Two of our friends host a weekly linky party. Brenda at Songbird Designs has a Monday linky party called Monday Musings. Our friend Carol at Quilt Schmidt hosts To-Do Tuesday with a linky party as well. We will share our weekly updates on both of their websites.

Countdown and Walk Challenge Update:

There are only 91 days to go in 2023! My walking stats for last week – goal met:

  • 9/25 = 11,533; 9/26 = 10,697; 9/27 = 11,179; 9/28 = 11,692; 9/29 = 12,391; 9/30 = 11,283; 10/1 = 11,045

To-Do for last week:

  1. Find a backing for the cradle quilt and get it quilted
  2. Start working on the Wisconsin Badger t-shirts for a quilt possibly
  3. Two limit list for a stress-free week

To-Do #1

There is a cradle quilt drive being held by Carole over at From My Carolina Home. The drive is looking for 18″ square quilts which will be given to children as Christmas/holiday gifts. They will be paired with cute cradles, wagons, or rocking chairs and a bear. Carole asks that if you would like to make a cradle quilt, please mail it to her by the end of October. Thank you so very much!

My sous chef, Sue, found an appropriate backing for this Hot Wheels cradle quilt. What do you think about Curious George? It seemed like a very fun choice to us, so we went with it. Here is our finished Cradle quilt which will be on its way to Carole this week.

To-Do #2

Start on a t-shirt project for Nicole. Yes, we did begin to tackle this project, so to speak. All of the t-shirts are out of the bag . . . and we’ve been mulling over the possibilities. That’s all we’ve got so far which is okay. Mulling is good, right?! We’d like to blow her mind just a little bit. ~giggle

What To-Do Next Week?

  1. Another journal cover from an old project returned to us
  2. Continue on a Wisconsin Badger’s t-shirt project
  3. Maybe nothing – no stress!

  1. Your cradle quilts arrived, thank you so much!

  2. Curious George is perfect for the backing of your little quilt, Roseanne! Keep going on that walking – I’m walking, too. Good luck with thect-shirt quilt – I agree, mulling can be a very important step!

  3. Curious George is definitely a fun backing for the Hot Wheels Quilt!! Some little guy will be over the moon!! Way to go on your steps this past week. Have fun with the T-shirt quilt. One day I may try to make one of those! Thanks for sharing with everyone on Monday Musings!

You are doing great with the steps! Just FYI…I am walking, so far, so good! I have no way to track the steps, but I count it all good just getting out the door!
The little Hot Wheels quilt is cute…love Curious George! 🙂

Congrats on all those steps. I am rooting for you from Nevada. I like that little cradle quilt. Just the right fabric for a boy. Maybe he can get a Curious George doll to go with it! I finally finished a top (from a quilt + extra fabric) that I was procrastinating on. I’m not fond of the design but my SIL wanted it! Such a relief to finish it. Just waiting for the backing to arrive. Hope your T-shirt quilt brings inspiration. Have fun my friend. Hugs

Good job on the steps. I decided to work on closing my circles each day 6/7 days last week! I will work on adding more steps, too, Ireland will help a lot! Looking forward to seeing the Tshirt quilt. Great choice of the Curious George fabric for the backing of that quilt.

  7. I thought you’d be interested in knowing that your posting of the cradle quilt drive has inspired me to challenge myself to make 2 ready to mail off by mid October. (I think you knew that already…) Update? #1 is ready for binding. #2 has borders left to do on top and is an easier one to quilt & bind as it’s thinner. I’m on track!
    🙂

Great job on the steps! Woohoo! I like the goal limits for a stress free week btw. Trying hard to do this right now (even tho I just want. to. do. all. the. things!)
Have a great week, walking buddy!

  9. The Hot Wheels quilt is just adorable! You are doing great on your walking. I haven’t started mine yet (procrastinator). but I did lose 3 lbs last week. However, the weekend splurging may have brought the lbs right back – lol! I have a bunch of T-shirts given to me by my new son-in-law for quilt, so any tips you want to post about will be welcomed. Have a wonderful week!
