To-Do Tuesday #15 & Monday Musing

Two of our friends host a weekly linky party. Brenda at Songbird Designs has a Monday linky party called Monday Musings. Our friend Carol at Quilt Schmidt hosts To-Do Tuesday with a linky party as well. We will share our weekly updates on both of their websites.

To-Do for last week:

  1. Work on some hexagon toppers for our Etsy shop
  2. Quilt Chase’s dinosaur quilt
  3. Two limit list for a stress-free week

To-Do #1

Yay! Some longarm quilting happened this weekend on Saturday. Not only did we get to quilt but we got to spend the day with our good friends, Ken and Carol. We ended the day by giving some side-by-side toppers a shot.

I knew it could be done because I’ve seen others do it . . . but would we be able to do it?? Yes, of course, we could.

Sue was at the helm of Millie and rocked the new-to-us panto called Calder. Two passes of the panto, which was actually four passes on the pattern, and it was a wrap. The perfect way to end a fabulous day. Now I’m working on the binding.

To-Do #2

As mentioned above, Saturday was another longarm session with our friend Carol and her machine, Millie. The focus this time was Chase’s dinosaur quilt. I can’t show you the finish but I can show you the first row loaded on the longarm with Sue doing the driving. She quilted the whole top except for one row and it looks SO good. I’ll share all the details soon.

To-Do for the week ahead:

  1. Bind the Halloween hexagon toppers
  2. Dye some Easter eggs with our littles
  3. Two for a low-stress limit!

I am going to have a session of placemats soon and will just load up a back and batting and throw them on and zoom! The question is, do I use a wide back and then just add a quilt top after the placemats? Cannot wait to see Chase’s quilt!! And will waiting I will put the finishing touches on his hat. Yes, I did. I couldn’t leave him without a pom pom of his own to play with! LOL
