To-Do #52+39 Weekly Recap Update
This is our 91st edition of our weekly to-do list and it’s a New Year. We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.
To-Do for the week of December 31st through January 6th:
- Start a new hand quilting project for Sue – √ done
- Make January Bee Hive blocks for Jan – √ done
- Finish the binding on the DrEAMi Dr. Seuss quilt – √ done
To-Do #1
I shared an update last Friday in January 2019 OMG – Fresh Start and truthfully not much has changed since then. Five more nine-patch blocks are on the wall, but it just wasn’t enough for a new photo! We were a little busy this weekend. Perhaps a Baby Girl made an appearance – more about that later this week. At any rate, very little sewing was accomplished. Oh well!
To-Do #2
We joined our very first Bee Hive group, and started on a block called Tic Tac Toe. Here is the layout we came up with for one of the blocks. I’ll share a post about all the details tomorrow.
To-Do #3
Our Dr. Seuss quilt is all complete and I shared the details in our DrEAMi project complete post. It’s hard to believe that just last Sunday the binding wasn’t complete since I have listed and SOLD this quilt already in our Etsy shop. How amazing is that?!
January OMG
This month we have made our monthly goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts the quilt mentioned in to-do #1. This quilt originally had the name of Boy Dot – I know, not very descriptive. We have received such nice comments referring to it as a color wave (our first layout like that) so it has been renamed to Spring Wave. We would like to get it made into a quilt top and layered for hand quilting by Sue.
To-Do for the week of January 7th through 13th
- Finish up a birth announcement
- Make the rest of the nine-patch blocks for Spring Wave
- Make a quilting plan for some helping-a-friend-quilting
- Continue appliquéing the Quiet Book
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
I like your goals for this week, and your accomplishments for last week. Good going! Have a happy middle-of-the-week day tomorrow!
Looks like another great week done and a good one to come!
Congrats on the sale of the quilt, that must have been sweet plus a new baby girl! Very exciting week.
So many Congratulations; baby Girl arriving, the sale on Etsy and so much accomplished! Yaaay! A great start to the New Year!
Hello Roseanne, Yikes, did I jump off the wall and miss some major announcement? Thrilled that your quilt sold so quickly, that is just marvelous!!Did you get my email, I actually started my blog! I hope that you both have a fantastic day!
Yahoooo! Welcome Baby Girl! You are already wonderfully loved! Congratulations Sue and Roseanne! As for quilty things, I love that tic tac toe block!
Busy ladies with wonderful projects, I picture you with machine and hands in motion!
How exciting to have such a quick sale – congrats! Spring Wave sounds like a wonderful name for your quilt, I like it. I hope you enjoyed your time with a sweet baby girl!
Congrats on the sale, that is fantastic! I like the tictac toe block too.
I particularly like #3 on your to-do list! That’s awesome about your Dr. Suess quilt selling so fast. And Spring Wave is a great name for the new project. I definitely do not have the patience for hand-quilting (and not a lot more for machine quilting!). Have a great day, Mary.
Oh! Bee blocks — how fun. I can’t wait to hear about it. I’ve always wanted to do that, but never have. Can’t wait for the introduction to Baby Girl!
Hi Roseanne…love your tic tac toe block — did you use Alyce’s tutorial from Blossom Hearts? Congrats on the Etsy sale and I’m assuming Dominic has a little sister?
Wait — did I missed something– has baby girl been born???
Congratulations on two wonderful things this week!
Congrats on already selling the Dr Seuss quilt! I didn’t figure it would hang out very long in your shop 🙂 I think a new baby girl is a wonderful and acceptable distraction from not working on a quilt 🙂
