To-Do #52+26 Weekly Recap Update

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends!  This is our 78th edition of our weekly to-do list and our #501 post!  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~

To-Do for the week of October 1st through 7th:

  1. Continue working on Baby Girl’s quilt – √ done
  2. Fireburst next clue  – √ done
  3. Watch Angela’s dot-to-dot video – √ done

To-Do #1

I spent a good part of the week trimming out George the giraffe and his tree counterpart.  That also involved clipping corners, and turning those long legs and tree branches.  Both main pieces are ready to be placed on the background fabric, which is a light grey Grunge.  We need to make quite a few more leaves for the tree and for George to chop on.  The leaf hanging out of his mouth will be a nod to Baby Girl’s brother who is a fan of having his sock hang out of his mouth.  Aww, he was such a baby then!

To-Do #2

I printed out the instructions for the Fireburst October clue, but that’s as far as we went.  The Fireburst QAL is nearing its conclusion, and then we’ll have the balance of the calendar year to get it all pieced together and quilted.  There will be a quilt parade in January, and I for one am looking forward to seeing all the different versions.

To-Do #3

I have been lazy, and still do not have the fabric from the kit I purchased assembled for the dot-to-dot QAL challenge with Angela Walter.  The six week long challenge can be done anytime, so I may just save it for the new year.  Why rush through it when there’s no hurry?!!  Especially when there are other things that really need to be finished this calendar year.  I did watch the video, though, so technically this to-do is done.  The kit basically still looks like this!  HAHA! October OMG

We did pick our Elm Street Quilts’ October OMG goal.  We posted about it last week, in this Our October 2018 OMG Goal and we selected the Las Vegas Leaves to complete.  It is all layered up so that’s a start.

To-Do October 8th through 14th:

How did it get to be October already?!!
  1. Start quilting Plus Playtime quilt for Luke
  2. Sew Up From Here blocks together (all four of them)
  3. Sew many, many, many leaves for Baby Girls quilt

So so much to love about this post! Baby Girl’s quilt is coming along so nicely. Loving the tree fabric. And that Dominic with the sock in his mouth is one of my favorite pictures of him! And I agree about the FMQ challenge. I have all of her videos saved up for some day…perhaps we can do it together…some day!

Well, you see Roseanne, there is this thing called a Calendar, it tracks the passing of each day from Jan 1st to Dec 31st. So after the sun rises and falls that means one more day has passed. If you count them as they pass, that means by this point in the Calendar year it is October! Oh, and we also know because Pumpkin Spice everything is back on the shelves!

Hello Roseanne, You always meet your goals and that is absolutely fantastic!! It also is so inspiring to me. I actually made a to do list….it just kept growing and growing. LOL. So proud of you and all of your accomplishments, plus all of the fun stuff you are learning and sharing. The giraffe and tree are going to make an incredible quilt. I think everyone is anxious already to see it! Well at the speed in which you are accomplishing your goals, I bet it is finished soon. Have a fabulous time with each of your projects, no matter when you decide to start them! Quilting is all about having fun making quilts for the people in our lives who we love and want to share with!! Have a spectacular day!!
