To-Do #41 Weekly Listing

This is our 41st edition of our weekly to-do list.  I share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Monday, and Tuesday’s linky party can be found on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website. ~smile~

To-Do Tuesday for the week January 15th through 21st:

  1. Spend MLK Day with Dominic – √ done
  2. Continue working on the Regatta Quilt – √ done
  3. Sew the mug rug – √ done
  4. Sew together Grandma’s Kitchen 10″ blocks – √ done

To-Do #1

One whole day with our sweet little boy!  He was so much fun – he took a 2.5 hour nap and then he was ready to laugh and play.  ~smile~

DJ MLK Day

Happy baby – let’s play!

Then Auntie Sue showed him Baby Shark on her phone, and he was wanting to get his fingers on that:  (did I mention I love this baby?!)

Let me press this button, Auntie Sue!

To-Do #2

Well, this is a pity done because not much happened on the Regatta this week.  No rush, no pressure means under the radar to us!  HAHA!

To-Do #3

I gave myself a requirement for the upcoming blog hop that we are participating in.  It was a twofold assignment meant to encourage me to use EQ8 and to use a different quilting technique in each square.  I was able to sew a little mug rug, and I will share the free pattern for this on our blog hop day, February 8th.  Wanna see a little sneak peak?

Just Let Me Quilt

Checkerboard 2

Here’s most of the fabrics that we chose.  You might be able to guess pretty much what it looks like from this, right?!  But you don’t know its name . . . ~smile~  I have been posting a few other sneak peaks on our Instagram and Facebook pages but not too many.

To-Do #4

Grandma’s Kitchen QAL 10.5″ blocks are moving right along.  We decided to add a white border initially, and then doubted ourselves.  Who wants a table runner with a white edge?  So we thought we might add the gray fabric as a secondary border.  I asked friends on Facebook and Instagram their opinion, and the wider border was the big winner over the narrower one.

GK Wide or Narrow

Oddly enough, we did not have enough of this gray fabric for a border.  The way it was folded, it looked like a half yard but it was not.  So we went with a wide navy border instead.  It is so long . . .

GK Tablerunner

Pat Sloan has been conducting a weekly how-to-quilt-this-yourself on your domestic machine.  I decided why reinvent the wheel and should just use her advice.  After all, she is the designer and who would know better?!

January OMG Goal:

Our January OMG goal is to completely finish the Dr Seuss commission quilt this month.  This is already finished – can you even believe it?!  I should almost make another goal.  I think I’ll get going on the Fluffer Nutter fabric challenge.  Maybe I can get a great start on this during the last half of the month.

To-Do January 22nd through 28th:

  1. Sew another couple of strips of Regatta
  2. Start on the Fluffer project
  3. Start quilting the GK table runner

I wish you a week filled with many blessings and good sewing/quilting vibes!

      Hi Beth,
His parents entered him in a ‘cute baby’ contest. Of course in my mind he wins hands down – but now he needs the votes. There are TONS of cute babies entered! ~smile~ Roseanne
