Finding Nemo Border and Pounce Pad
A few days ago I shared with you that I able to stencil the border on our Finding Nemo quilt using the Pounce Pad. The fabric is turquoise so white chalk was used for marking and more details were shared here in To-Do Tuesday Edition Number 6. Today I got a chance to machine quilt the top in a waves motif – separate article forthcoming. Also the Pounce border was completed.

Here is the start on the border. This doesn’t reflect how easy the stencil markings were to see. Even after rolling up the quilt many times while quilting the center, the chalk lines remained. Here is the end of the first line of the stencil:
The second line of the stencil was even easier than the first go round. The fabric was already secure; I was comfortable with what speed I could use. Here is the start of the second line of the stencil:

I can honestly say that using the Pounce Pad was super easy and quick to use. It wasn’t messy at all, and the chalk markings didn’t wipe off easily. On the other hand, it was easy to remove the marks once the stitching was complete. It came off easily with a steam iron or I could have used water. I will be happy to use this method again.
