Dinosaur Friends Book Panel

A while back we visited a shop in Richfield, Wisconsin call Sew Many Pieces.  While there, we found a cute panel for a dinosaur book.  We just HAD to purchase the panel because it consisted of friendly dinosaurs:

It is a very quick and easy project.  Sue lined up all the individual pages for me and I sewed a quick seam around them.  We used leftover pieces of batting from various quilting projects.  I left an opening to flip them right-side out, and Sue closed the opening with a whip stitch.

This might have been a good book for Forrest, but he’s a big boy now.  He need this when he was a baby!  We’ll have to save it for Baby J and hope that he or she is interested in dinosaurs.

We have a charm pack of Jurassic Park fabrics that might make a good pairing with this book.  The dinosaurs are not exactly the same but the general idea is there.  Perhaps this will be paired together for a future baby.  Have you made any fabric book?  It seems like we should make a princess book, too. ~smile~

Our Linky Parties page shows our quilting friends’ websites- see what they’re up to.   Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your work-in-progress or finished project!  We would love to see them.  Thank you!

Hi Peggy! I hope so. I can just imagine reading and talking about all the different dinosaurs. ~smile~ Roseanne

      • When my grandson was little they lived in Washington DC and me in FL. I wanted Joey to know who I was so I would buy Little Golden Books and read them into a tape recorder to him and describe the pictures. One time on the phone when he was 3 he called me to ‘read’ to me from his books. After ‘reading’ to me a little he said, “OK Joey , now turn the page.” Just like I always told him in my recordings at the end of the page. He is 25 now. 🙁

Peggy – OMG! That is SO darn cute. I’ll bet those are just priceless memories for him (and you)! What a great way to stay or be involved even from a distance. That just makes me ~smile~ and ~smile~. Roseanne
