Snow Angel Tutorial for a Quick Gift

While poking around and following links from comments left on some friends blogs, I stumbled upon Joy at Days Filled With Joy.  She had a blog hop last year featuring easy items to make as holiday gifts.  This year, she is going to share tutorials on the 25th of each month through November that continue on that theme.  Sue and I had made a sweet Snow Angel eons ago and definitely pre-blog.  When I asked Joy if that was something she might be interested in, she said yes.  I asked Sue if she had any idea where our Snow Angel might be and seconds later she placed it in my hands.  The answer to that question was also a big YES.

Snow Angel Born

Many moons ago we were going to sell our wares in a craft fair.  That has yet to happen . . . but we still have some items in storage totes for those just-in-case moments.  (Dominic and Addison will have some sweet teacher gifts for a few years!)Snow Angel

We cannot recall where we found the inspiration for this snowman angel but I would suspect we saw it at a craft fair.

Snow Angel Supplies

The supplies are fairly simple for this Snow Angel.  We used muslin fabric and only four pieces are needed.  Scrap batting layered between two of the fabric pieces complete the major supplies.  Three buttons, ribbon or fabric for the bow/scarf and then some small decorative items and you’re done.  Here are the decorative items we’ve saved for our next bout of making these angels.

If I were to hasten a guess, I would assume we went shopping at Joann’s for anything that caught our eye!  Here’s a .pdf tutorial for how we made the Snow Angel.  Templates for both the snowman body and wings are included.  I hope you enjoy it, and if you make one we’d love to see it!

Thank you for sharing the pattern and tutorial for this darling little angel. This is about the time when a voice in my head starts saying, “you should make your ornaments for the year” and I keep ignoring it until it is yelling very loud. Now I can’t say I don’t know what to make this year. Have a great day.
