Final Update – Regatta Sew Along

Here’s our last update on the Regatta Quilt sew along.  A summer  ‘last call’ of sorts before we start another new no-pressure sew along with no prizes and no real end date.  The original pattern is from Daniela at Block M Quilts.  Just click on the picture of the quilt directions found in the link and you’ll be able to print out a .pdf.  I have to jump ahead and share that our finished Regatta found itself a home with my sister, Carol.

Regatta for Carol

Not only is anything in blue shades her absolutely favorite thing, but she is also a coldy-cat like me.  I should have known she would enjoy this all along.  Here is a picture of the two of us when I gave it to her on Mother’s Day.  She has always been like a mother to me, as my mom and her were pregnant at the same time.  Her first child and I are only six months apart, and I spent many fun times in their home as a fourth/oldest child of sorts.  Happy Mother’s Day indeed.

Below, I’ve shared a few new photos that our participants have shared on their blog, Facebook, or Instagram.  I was stalking everyone’s website and IG to find them all.  I apologize if I missed yours! Don’t you love seeing such diversity?  Can you pick a favorite?  Or are you like me and love them all?

Gretchen made another quilt from the Regatta leftovers worthy of sharing!

Nanette sent her quilt top to her cousin – our first Regatta divorce

Check out their websites to see all the details on how they quilted their pieces.  There were a few other participants that didn’t share further information about their piece other than their fabric choice.  I didn’t include them here, but again I apologize if I missed anyone!

Another No Stress Sew Along

Our second sew along starts on July 1st.  You can find all the details on the different patterns to choose from in The Second Sew Along Winner Is post.  I hope you might like to join us.

How wonderful that the quilt was given to your sister and that she’ll appreciate it so much. I can tell you I need to be sitting under quilts these times Down Under. All the quilter’s Regatta quilts are really lovely.

HI Roseanne, All the quilts look amazing. The quilt along was great fun. I am looking forward to the next one also. I picked up the 60 degree triangle ruler and have a color scheme chosen. I just need to choose the fabrics.

What a great picture to start the blog post! All of these quilts are fabulous! Sorry that I missed this one. I most likely will not be joining with the one just starting, due to a couple of quilts that I am working on that must be finished. Yet, I will be watching and cheering everyone on from the sidelines! Have a fantastic day!

All those regattas look stunning. You had me reading and reading your post trying to figure out your relationship with Carol. It’s so rewarding knowing that our hard work goes to someone who really appreciates it and will use it!

  12. Roseanne, thank you for sharing all the Regatta quilt photos. How fun to see the variety of colors. I really enjoyed participating. 😊❤️

  13. I have to confess I haven’t quilted mine yet, much less found a backing (in search of a perfect one). Egg on my face. They are all really fun, though, and I’m glad I participated! Thanks for hosting!
