Weeks 7 & 8 Hidden Stars SAL

We are getting there – almost a quilt top with Hidden Stars.  Sherry from Powered by Quilting is the hostess for this sew along featuring a pattern she recently released.  With postings every other week, the SAL is about to start winding down.  We have made the quilt top a completion goal for the first quarter.

Week Seven of Hidden

February 19th we received the next directions in the sew along.  We are to make the square-within-a-square for the B group of fabrics.

Chain piecing happened, adding the white triangles to the pretty colored center squares.  Honestly, not much sewing happened during week seven.

Week Eight of Hidden

Once I noticed that Sherry used a steam setting  that was low, the pressing the seams open was MUCH easier.  No burning my fingers.  Our Group Bs were basically finished this past weekend.  At the end of week eight, they are in various stages of being trimmed.

Sherry has a Facebook page for sharing updates.  Additionally, there is a hashtag on social media of #PBQHiddenStarsSAL if you’d like to check on the progress.  This is week nine and today Sherry will have more instructions and tips for us.  My guess is for how to put all the blocks together.  We’ll have a quilt top in no time.

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!
