To-Do Listing #54 Update

This is our 54th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website today.

To-Do for the week April 16th through 22nd:

  1. Determine a layout for I Spy (and start sewing?) – √ done
  2. Frame centers for Spiral – √ done
  3. Layer GK table runner #1 and quilt – √ done
  4. Wrap up quilting on our April OMG – √ done

To-Do #1

Dominic came for a visit Friday night with mom and dad.  Right before they came over, I got the first row of I Spy sewn together.  Yay!  We have decided on a good layout – good enough for me anyway.  I’ll share a picture soon.

To-Do #2

All seventeen four-patch centers have been framed.  The Spiral quilt has progressed as far as the 16-patch point.  All of those strips have been sewn together – and the cutting department has them stacked in piles for me.  In my own defense, I have been working on the t-shirt quilt and the I Spy quilt on the down low.

To-Do #3

Saturday morning Sue layered up the 2nd GK table runner for me while I ran some errands.  When I got home, I started quilting with my walking foot.  I used my laser light for one of the blocks to easily sew from corner to corner without any time spent marking.

Look at all the tips I’ve used from other quilting bloggers just in this one post.  That is so cool!  I would like to try some FMQ in the sashing areas between the blocks.  Some ribbons or 8s might be fun in those small areas. I think that is what the shape is called.

To-Do #4

The second Animal Panel quilt is completely quilted!  Woot woot.  In the last step, a quick little binding will be added and boom, it will be done.  Here a shot of the backing – isn’t it cute?!  I suppose they don’t even teach anything about Spot any longer, but he sure is having fun in this backing.

Extra:

Sue has been working on the t-shirt quilt for Pat.  We have the first row sewn together! We have added some sashing strips to a few pieces for sizing.  Maybe next week we’ll share a sneak peek.  Also, here’s a peek at Postcard that Corner to Corner is finishing for us real soon.  Isn’t it gorgeous?!

April OMG Goal:

Our Elm Street Quilts April OMG goal is to quilt and bind the second animal panel quilt.  This is also on our PHD list of UFOs.

To-Do April 23rd through 29th:

  1. Finish quilting GK runner #2
  2. Work on second row of t-shirt quilt
  3. Start sewing 16-patches for Spiral
  4. Bind Postcard

We wish you a week filled with many blessings and good sewing/quilting vibes!

Whoa, your sewing mojo returned with a vengeance! Yay for progress.

  7. I clicked on your other post about the laser light…seems like a great solution to a pesky problem of keeping normal straight line quilting straight without having to mark-up a huge area and/or rely totally on edge of pre-quilted lines for accuracy.

    Thanks for the tip!

    ps- I remember spot! oh-oh!
    🙂

  8. Pretty cool how you document your “to do” list. I love the laser light !
