To-Do #48 Weekly Update

This is our 48th edition of our weekly to-do list.  I share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Monday, and Tuesday’s linky party can be found on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website. ~smile~

To-Do for the week March 5th through March 11th:

1. Continue working on Postcard – √ done
2. Continue buttonholing Jigsaw – √ done
3. Take rough measurements of the t-shirts – √ done
4. Sew the Bubbles rows together, and add a border – √ done
5. Piece together some doll-size quilts – √ done

To-Do #1

We were able to get our fourth row of the Postcard from Sweden quilt together this past weekend.  Sue has been a champ getting the fabric cut and pulled for each block.  My job is to sew, iron, trim and sew the blocks/rows together.  We make a great team!  Since we are making it wider than the pattern, we are repeating the first four rows after the twelve the pattern calls for.  This means the sides or overhang will match which is kind of cool!  Sue has rows 5 and 6 labeled and awaiting for my attention this coming week.  I am linking to Sandra’s website for a Postcard from Sweden step 3 update.

To-Do #2

A little buttonholing was completed this week and row 1 and 2 were sewn together.  Since the design wall is empty and too small for Postcard, jigsaw may take up residence for a while.

To-Do #3

All the t-shirts were measured and recorded in a nice, neat list.  Now we have to figure out what to do next!  HAHA!  It may be a week or two before we can give this project the attention it deserves.

To-Do #4

Last Tuesday after work I put the chicken in the oven with a couple of baking potatoes and headed into the sewing room.  Sue had a late meeting so I had about an hour to sew, etc.  I started off ironing some Postcard HSTs open for trimming, and then worked on Bubbles.  Sue determined the layout and sewed the blocks into rows on Lily.  She was nervous about sewing the rows together, so I stepped up and finished that off for her.  Borders were added and we layered it up for Sue to start quilting.  She is going to quilt circles reminiscent of champagne bubbles for a little fun.

To-Do #5:

Why did I think we needed to get so much done this week?  Rather than ‘some’ doll quilts, ‘a’ doll quilt was made this past week and I’ll share the details as well as my FMQ practice experience on Friday.  That was a lot to complete especially since we LOST an hour on Sunday.  Here’s a sneak peek:

March OMG Goal:

Our Elm Street Quilts March OMG goal is to square up, layer, quilt and bind the Regatta quilt.

To-Do March 12th through 18th:

1. Another row or two of Postcard
2. Continue working on Jigsaw
3. Start hand quilting Bubbles
4. Finish quilting Regatta so it can be bound
