Well, only two people took a guess about Baby J.  One guessed a girl and one guessed a boy.  One of them was correct!  HAHA  Our special bundle of joy, a great great-nephew was welcomed into this world on Saturday, September 2nd.  His name is Dominic John and I am certain that he is the most beautiful baby ever . . . and we are ready to spoil him!  Here he is, just a few hours old:

Who care about the rest of this stuff . . . I mean really, after this picture who wants to read about anything else!

#2

Block ten!  Holy moly – I never thought we would get that far but I am loving the blocks so far.  I will share a recap of all the blocks finished so far later this week.  This block is called Recipe Block:

#3

Both of these blocks were finished as well, and I’m sharing a fun recap later this week, too.

#4

Tooth has a temporary crown.  It was KILLING me all day Friday after the digging around on my gum, but I rallied for a Saturday pre-Dominic sewing session. ~smile~

#5

The princess quilt is all together as a quilt top.  Now comes the embroidery/quilting portion – we’ll see how this goes:

#6 and #7

What on earth was I thinking??!!  Seven items on a one week to-do list?!  Well, #6 is finished and I’ll share a post on it later.  Microwave cozies did not get more than a passing thought.  HAHA  Maybe later.

Starting next week I’m going to recap Monday through Sunday instead of Tuesday to Monday.

To-Do September 4th through 10th:

  1. Sew block #11 in the Grandma’s Kitchen QAL
  2. Start embroidery/quilting on the princess quilt
  3. Bicycle fabric journal covers – find the journals first for size
  4. Start on donation microwave cozies
  5. Baby animal panel – framed blocks
  6. Find baby boy stuff to sew!!

Congratulations! He is so precious! And those eyes wide open like that after only a few hours… Wow! Great progress for such a busy week too… well done!

    • Roseanne says:

Hi Christine! Thank you so much – he is a week old already and was visiting Friday night. This week has not been so successful sewing wise, but oh well. Thanks for visiting and commenting! ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Sharon says:

Aww, such a sweet baby! I’m sure you will be enjoying him, and hopefully all your planned projects this week.

    • Roseanne says:

Hi Sharon! There has been very little sewing this week so far, and Dominic is coming ‘for dinner’ tonight. Oh, and his parents just might come too . . . He’ll be a week old tomorrow already. Thanks so much for your visit and comment. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. What a beautiful baby. He does not look like a newborn. If I had him around I would not get any quilting done. Enjoy. (and spell him for me…I love the baby smell) 🙂

  4. Awww, that baby! I did read the rest of the blog, too. But he’s the star!!!

  5. Kathryn says:

Oh Dominic is beautiful and a great great nephew, how special. Congrats on all you achieved. Sorry about the tooth. I like the way you have done the Recipe Card block, I prefer it to what I did.

    • Roseanne says:

      Hi Kathryn,
I guess I didn’t quite see a recipe card from the pattern Pat shared . . . although I don’t really see it in our block either. HAHA! Dominic is just so fabulous – I can’t get enough of him. ~smile~ Roseanne
