Weekly To-Do #36 – One Week ‘Til Christmas

This is our 36th edition of our weekly to-do list.  Want to join in?  Tuesday’s link party can be found on Christine’s Stitch All the Things website. ~smile~  I am also sharing on Beth’s Main Crush Monday.

To-Do Tuesday for the week December 11th through 17th:

  1. Continue working on the January table runner – √ done
  2. Get the pillow sham tops together – √ done
  3. Start on the new commission quilt – √ done

This week I have been sneaking in a few moments for the appliqué on the snowmen for the January table runner.  We are only making four snowmen, although the pattern calls for five.  I thought the apple table runner was just too long even for our longgggggg island.  It gets in the way of my daily mess important stuff that I keep on the corner of the island. ~smile~  The snowmen are appliquéd now.  Next week I’ll aim for adding the wonky blocks border that I shared last week.  Then it will be time for quilting and it will be all set for January.

The pillow shams are progressing as well.  I have decided on the flap method rather than a zipper.  That makes it rather mindless for me as opposed to putting in a zipper.  I am confident that this will be complete and in Darlene’s hands for the end of the year.

Sue started trimming and squaring up the Dr Seuss panels for Keri’s quilt.  It is amazing to me that they can be printed so differently which impacts their overall size.  Now we have to work on a good layout that is pleasing – oh yeah, they need to be five by five, not four by five.  Start over!

Extra:

I don’t think I did anything extra this week except purchase some quilt kits from Craftsy when they were on sale last week.  We’ve not worked from a kit in ages, so we’ll see how that goes.

December OMG Goal:

  • Complete the appliqué of the nautical pieces for both pillow shams – the appliqué is finished so now I’m going for completion of the shams

To-Do December 18th through 24th:

  1. Continue working on January table runner
  2. Add sashing to Dr Seuss blocks
  3. Bake three more batches of cookies for #4 . . .
  4. Host a Christmas Eve party and enjoy the heck out of our family

Oh my goodness, only two weeks left in 2017!  That is so hard to believe.  I wish you a week filled with many blessings!

      Good Morning Maryann,
I agree – that smile draws me to him every time and makes me smile. Then multiply it by four and you can’t help but join in. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. You sound like Santa…making a list and checking it twice….:) You are as busy as a beaver! I hope you accomplish all that you set out to accomplish! 🙂

      Hi Cindy,
Aww, you’re sweet. It’s not that big of a deal if we don’t get it all done . . . thankfully! ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. The snowman runner and Keri’s quilt is going to be so cute. I don’t know where my mind has been but I did not realize that Christmas was next Monday until I went to City Hall to get Sami’s license today. I guess I can blame it on my medication. Oh well, Merry Christmas and have a wonderful Christmas party!

Well done. The Craftsy kits are good value especially when on sale. I recently got one, but more for the fabric than the actual pattern, I just wanted to add it to my stash. Snowman looks very happy, sure he will make you smile more when he is gracing your island.

    • Roseanne says:

      Hi Kathryn,
I went a little wild on the kits – I picked up four but the price was good for just the fabrics alone. We’ll try some new patterns that hopefully we will enjoy. ~smile~ Roseanne

Nice work you two-you’ll be done in no time-just think the little engine that could, hehe
